Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
The issue for me isn’t getting them approved by the community, in most cases, but long approved trail markers being removed and getting warnings/bans. I have no doubt I can get a variety of trail markers approved but will Niantic leave them in the game? Will they warn me again or give me a ban? That is why clarity is so important because the community, overall approves trail markers with decent info but Niantic is removing them. I care about the specifics from Niantic. I don’t need more removed or a wanring or ban.

Funny thing is always these things come up theres ingress Players already out there like sharks in the water looking out for prey, Like "We will have our old Order restored"

Re: Chased off By the manger
Here's the thing... you didn't have to be at the coffee shop. You could have been up to 80 meters away and still been able to access the gym, though maybe take 10 meters off for drift. Find a public space nearby, or street parking, or anything where you aren't going to draw attention or cause problems.
At a larger scale, work with your local community to build respect for the locations that you're using. Make it a point to think about whether your playing would be obtrusive or an annoyance. Don't get in the way of other people. Keep your voices at a reasonable level. Park in areas where you won't cause a problem... in a large parking lot the spaces very close to the businesses will often be taken while those 2-3 rows away will be empty. Learning to be unobtrusive and developing good manners is an investment in keeping your area playable.
I just found a random coffee shop not too far away and marked up the map as an example. The purple pin is the front of the coffee shop. Just to the west is a parking lot for it, with another entrance and a drive-thru. Parking in the lot near the door could be an annoyance, but in this case there's legal street parking in front of the shop and on the street to the south of the shop, as well as lots of other street parking in range. Depending on how busy the business is you could possibly get away with parking 1-2 cars in a not-crowded section of the parking lot. You could park a block or two away and walk over. Different areas have different situations but in the ten years that I've been playing Niantic games I've rarely found places where I couldn't do what I needed to do without bothering anyone, although sometimes I've had to think creatively about it.
And, yanno, you could always go into the coffee shop and buy some coffee.
Re: Chased off By the manger
Parking spaces are private property. They can absolutely ask you to leave and involve the police to trespass you off the property if you refuse to comply. But why let it proceed to that? There's a first time for everything. But now that these raiders know the property owner is concerned about their parking spaces being used up by non-customers, the PGO players need to be good neighbors.
1) Try consolidating into a single car so that there are 5 or 6 people in one car rather than 4 - 6 cars with 1 or 2 people in each.
2) When you have a chance, take that single car load of 5 or 6 people and go inside the coffee shop to all buy a drink and a snack. You'll be supporting a local business and you will help build a better relationship with the owner. Of course this only works if the players are friendly and well behaved while inside the shop.
Exploring the community encompasses more than just wandering trails. I have learned so much about the local businesses in my area by paying attention to what could potentially be a POI. There are so many interesting shops from diverse cultures in my area.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I am one of the Ambassadors that is very active on the forum. I belong to this very diverse community.
I have been vocal over the years about the lack of moderation. Even before I became an Ambassador I would find myself making posts asking for those arguing to calm down and stop. It is not a nice experience trying to read posts that are vitriolic or having to work up the courage to post if there is a high likelihood of belittled.
It can also be frustrating to see someone post in completely the wrong area and point out they will be better reposting.🙄 Or see 4 new threads created as someone who is including photos is confused as to why their post keeps disappearing. 🤔 Regular users know what can happen at weekends with a lack of staff support.
It’s absolutely right that questions should be raised about this change, which I am clear is on a pilot basis and subject to review. I welcome comments about this….hopes, fears, concerns. I would rather hear them in the open so they can be considered.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
It'll be going on both which is why it'll take some time as we work on getting it translated.
Re: Wayspot removal appeal: Suolahden Ikkunagalleria
At picture we see local business selling and making cutting tools for forestry business https://r-wood.fi/ Text at window refer to "Puuntyöstöterät" aka "Woodworking tools"
Referred news from newspaper date 2013 to nonpermanent display. Also Google says "Suolahden ikkunagalleria" is closed.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
Thanks for bringing this up. I'll be working with the Ambassadors to have a collective and updated "criteria clarification" making it easier for folks to identify what the most recent criteria are. This will be in the new community soon after launch.
