Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
What about other inaccessible portals? There are portals nearby to commando that have incredibly weak signal and require lots of work, money and preparation in order to capture (Prawle Point, Scorhill Circle, Culbone Church).
Don’t let the (undoubtedly, to anyone with the faintest knowledge of the base and the area) shaky story above cloud your judgement. This is not a wayfarer issue, but a gameplay one. There is access to the base, as shown by a local ENL agent being able to capture, play inside and farm keys. The idea that MOD staff would involve themselves in this imaginary game called ingress is laughable. The ‘danger’ of the base is being overstated. There are military base portals all over the UK and beyond. It’s part of the game.
Re: Upgraded nominations going to waste with "NIA Voting"
No, you dont get to brush this off. Upgrades are our only reward for putting in HOURS of reviewing for you. They might be working as intended on your end, but they are not working as expected by us. You dont get to just say "tough luck, you did all thay reviewing for nothing". These upgrades need to do what that are meant to do, or you need to refund them to the affected users. With bug after bug and gaslight after gaslight you arent keeping your community of free laborors happy. Do better Niantic @NianticAaron @NianticOren @NianticTintino-ING @NianThib
Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
No, that's just silly.
If the personnel on that base are free to use their phones at the location, then the Wayspot should be valid, as base personnel are still considered members of the public, just like people who visit a theme park or live in a gated community are also members of the public.
If you wouldn't break into a theme park or a gated community to access a wayspot because you personally shouldn't be there, then you obviously shouldn't be doing the same with a military base if you have no business being there either. The fact that someone tried it and got guns pointed at them is not a reason why the wayspot should be removed. Your game will quite clearly tell you not to trespass on the loading screen, and if you ignore that, then that's entirely your own problem, and definitely not a Wayfarer issue.
Now, if the base personnel are also not allowed their phones in that specific area, then yes, that would be grounds for removal.
Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
Hello and welcome @Rednax1984-ING and @TrixxyLixx-PGO
As has already been stated from the wayfarer point of view the wayspot is legitimate.
There is no other role for wayfarer in this case.
"I had to spin a unique Pokestop." No one has to do anything in Pokemon Go you make choices.
Also there is not an essential need to capture a portal - it is a choice.
Both games warn about being mindful of where you are and trespassing etc.
If the military choose to request removal through the appropriate channels then that will be facilitated.
Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
If the camp want it removed they can report it to Niantic who will remove it. Wayspots on military camps are not prohibited unless they directly interfere with operations.

Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
You're absolutely correct. Aaron's post fails to acknowledge the issues that are under Niantic's control, comes out of left-field without context, and doesn't connect up with OP's concerns or Niantic's criteria/content guidelines.
I feel like this has happened in years past, as well.
Staff jumps into the middle of a thread, drops an ill-thought-out ruling or opinion, and then dips.
Is this some sort of traditional pre-vacation prank at Niantic?
Re: Repeated fake submission
We have reviewed this report and taken action on the Wayspot and Wayfinder in accordance with our policies. Thank you for helping us maintain the quality of the Wayspots.

Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
Can all of the protagonists here please take their arguments elsewhere.
As I have already indicated in the thread about PlymouthPortals I will be raising with the Wayfarer Team the issue of potentially attempting to alter the game board by action in wayfarer, which is considered abuse.
Re: Inaccessible Portal - Commando
It might be annoying but it's perfectly valid as a wayspot. Wayspots don't have to be accessible by all.
