Re: Invalid trail markers
Another day, another message asking for considerate posting.
There is nothing wrong (in fact it is perfectly right) with people expressing their views on this topic.
However…..
Please do so avoiding personal comments.
Comments divisive between groups of Wayfinders.
Recognise that this is an emotive and divisive topic.
This is a topic that the Ambassadors are pursuing to regain clarity. The impact on the community is part of the issues being raised.
I have concerns about some of the related behaviours/motivation around this, centring on removal requests and will be raising this with the Wayfarer Team.
TLDR: Please chill a little 😎
Re: Orienteering Markers - Plymouth
Can I remind everyone that
we need to treat each other with respect.
that disagreements about in game activity has no part to play with validity of wayspots.
Wayfarer is game agnostic
There is no need to add further to this discussion.
Re: How to remove Pokestopps on cemeteries
A typical UK cemetery will have a church, graveyard, probably a war memorial, maybe a lych gate, maybe a notice board, maybe some acceptable architectural features, the grave of Sir Charles Alisdair Smethington-Smithington-Fitzalan III. All within 100 metres of each other.
If the graves are not ok why is the church, noticeboard etc etc ok?
Re: Location Edit Not Showing, Multiple Agents Attempted <10m
Since no one knows who has been involved can everyone please refrain from bringing faction references to this forum.
it is also not helpful that there is a second thread open about this
This does not help the wayfarer team. Please be patient and this case will be picked up and dealt with as the team decides.
Re: Orienteering Markers - Plymouth
Please refrain from posts such as above we try to keep this a supportive space.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Orienteering Markers and Hiking Trail markers aren't the same thing either.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I understand (and feel) the sentiment, but I believe going directly against the wayfarer team's wishes is counterproductive. Like a wise robot once said: "This will all end in tears, I just know it."
Perhaps we, the Dutch, should educate the team. Because there is a reason why there are so many trail markers in the Netherlands: because there are so many trails! And why are there so many trails? Because they see so much usage! And it is free exercise! Isn't it foolish to pay for a gym membership, if the outside is behind your front door?
We should celebrate these walking trails. 🤌🏻 It's a culture thing.
Re: State Survey Marks - Railway marks -Boundary Marks - Utility Marks - The nightmare grows
I’ve seen a lot being posted in a global social media group for Wayfarer saying that they’re acceptable.
I don’t see how myself, but it would be that group and it’s ripples that are contributing to a lot of them being subbed I would think.
Re: How to remove Pokestopps on cemeteries
Cemeteries and locations associated with them can be continuous especially if not enough context is given. Niantic guidance has moved around on this, as well.
Not as a personal dig at you, but I feel frustration when "I've" nominated things that were community approved and then somebody comes around without context and tries to remove them. Understand that there is passion for the map and passion for our games.
There's also passion and emotion that can be present at a cemetery, especially one with active mourners. But even one near me has an active area but also picnic areas and educational signage and invites people to explore. So the community is already welcome and encouraged to visit. However there is a distinction between visiting and forcing an AR game experience.
You've tried reporting and as others said before the removal criteria does not always match the rejection criteria. I would challenge you to make sure you're doing the removal request because this location affects the grieving or if it's simply an inconvenience to you. If the latter, let it go. If it is a grieving site, I invite you to follow example in https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/removal-appeals
Re: Gym removed one week after acceptance
It did not get past reviewers. This Wayspot was approved by Niantic.
