Re: LDS and Niantic Games
I have received these edits so far today, two different LDS churches in two different cities in Alaska.
If I get anymore I'll be sure to take screenshots.
Edit: Not five minutes later and I got another one. The first two above are in Anchorage and Palmer, which are close enough that one person could visit both and personally submit the edit. This latest one is in Healy, which is nearly 5 hours away and is a town with a population of less than 900. One person doing this legitimately would require planning and commitment that seems incredible to me.
Edit: I've just received a fourth identical edit in less than an hour of reviewing.
Re: Are trailmarkers no longer good wayspots?
If it looks like a generic street sign or common trail marker, we don't have to accept them. That's like having an annoying spouse who keeps tell you, "Oh look, at this gas price!".
Re: The title or description is misspelled
Personally I'm pretty lenient. Maybe the language they have submitted in isn't there first language, they may be dyslexic, lots of reasons :)
The first I'd be happy to accept, the second less so

Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Yes… But Aarons statement was clearly against the site whats good, plus, it was related to the pure knotpoint numbers in the nederlands, plus bot problem there. MY nominations have mostly the symbol, the name of the route on the sign. clearly mass produced, sometimes even a sticker on an official traffic symbol like Bicycle way. But nontheless they are not temporary.
Anyway, i think i will try them again again and again just to meet those reviewers that just look at the criteria page.
Sure, we want some unique POIs to fill the wayfarer app, but on the other hand, we want to fill the gameboard for ALL the niantic games and have to use whatever we find if its somehow egliable. And Routes are, but are just presented by massproduced signs almost everywhere. SO how should i nominate a Route or Part of the route any other way then by the Massproduced sign. Maybe i should try to Take a pictury of the walkway to get it fetched by emily ;)
No ill will here. I just like to play on these official Trails, so i really like the markers, as the in fact encourage me to be active.
Re: Historic Lighthouse. Bad Appeal Decision
It probably has something to do with the information given to potential visitors on the lighthouse's website. That would make sense to me.
Re: How do I improve this submission?
Hello and welcome.
To add to what @Faversham71-PGO has said you refer to this expecting it to be a pokestop. However this will not become a pokestop.
Have you researched about S2 cells and PokemonGo ? Google that and go to the pokemongohub where there is a good explanation. It’s important to understand so you don’t have the frustration of wayspots not appearing.
you can only have 1 pokestop or gym for every Level 17 cell.
The cells are the green boxes. The noticeboard is already in that cell. Perhaps you should look elsewhere.
Re: Historic Lighthouse. Bad Appeal Decision
It's in the middle of the Long Island Sound, miles from any shore.
I could not see it being safe to go there via kayak. A large boat might be more realistic. However, the light has been automated for over 50 years.
From "New England Lighthouses: A Virtual Guide"
"Accessibility: This lighthouse is not open to the public and is best seen by boat."
The denial seems very reasonable, IMO.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I think you forgot the point why this thread exist:
@Spekkje-PGO received the warning email because something changes from than (where his POIs were perfectly ok) to now (they aren't good enough anymore).
To hold users breathless waiting if they get banned, is the mean point of this discussion here.
Re: Historic Lighthouse. Bad Appeal Decision
Is there a safe dock? The pictures that the database show doesn't seem like there is. Even checking Google Maps, there's not a whole lot to analyze except a few pics. The platform you show is above the water (regardless of tide):
Is there's no safe access, it's not going to accepted even if it fits the criteria. The same rejection applies for anything that's residential - there's NRHP items that are homes, they still are rejected for the detached residential home reason.
If anything, the docking area needs to be shown more clearly.
Re: There's no pokestops around me for several dozen kilometers, Niantic just rejected me nomination.
It looks like there are a lot of fishing holes in that river. If there are any public docks or platforms for fishing, or any signs about conservation of the local waters, go find those. The main thing is that it needs to be public land, not someone's private property.
Otherwise, in terms of eligible spots for POI, your area is pretty bleak. There's not much we can do to help you. Wayfarer is built on the concept of having "places" to go. Most of the people who choose to live in areas like yours are specifically trying to escape people and places. Hopefully, we've given you a few ideas.
Come find us in the Nomination Support section on the new forum in a few days if you decide to try to submit any of these places. We will help you make your nomination be as good as you can make it.
