Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I linked mine years ago and I don't think I've needed to use it at all.
I don't use campfire though and my account reset was caused by the permanent deleting of Pikmin.
I get why anyone would be wary and reticent to do so given Niantic's track record and lack of support if something does go wrong.

Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
There doesn't seem to be a backup system in the vanilla forum, so unless the Wayfarer team of administrators reprints the posts with the organized content so far in the new forum, it will all be gone.
This time, I am more interested in just how Niantic and the Wayfarer team will use the "Niantic ID" to guarantee security and transparency than in the new forum itself.
This may not be the topic of the Wayfarer forum, but with the recent theft of the PGO account of a well-known PGO trainer and influencer fresh in my mind, I think it would be a good thing if the new login system can help prevent these things from happening.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
if i sounded sarcastic, i wasn't. i just want us all going by the same guidelines. getting rid of previous clarifications is just as effective as trying to find and post them all where everyone can access them. as many times as i have begged for clarifications, i had given up on the latter option.

Here we go again! Another downgrade!
I looked at my 8-ball and got a message: Sign points to FAILURE!
You know it’s complete incompetence when one forum gets replaced with Reddit!
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I can say that basketball courts are not interesting for me because I don't enjoy that sport. That does not forgo that it is a great place to exercise. A wayspot is a point of interest where Wayfarer's interest is their mission, the eligibility criteria reflects this mission. Interest in that case is not strictly only by visual aesthetic.
It may require finesse to detail and distinguish each trailmarker, lots currently do not have that skill yet but I do not think it should cause a sweeping generalization like Aaron's comment. Would be nice to hear and see more examples of well done trailmarker waypots from veteran trailspotters.
I can share the frustration of visually unappealing stuff blocking the more aesthetic ones but that there is a limit chosen by each app. We can only hope for a way to prioritize wayspots in our chosen apps not just by FIFO.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I just want to point out that there was a loud contingent of wayfarers who wanted to make it easier to have things removed from the game. I always say be careful what you wish for.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I'm not really sure.
On one hand it's the number of disasters that we have seen with Niantic due to the management of accounts, so don't touching the account seems safer to me. Of course probably millions of people have enabled their Niantic ID and there has been no issues at all with that, but we have learn about many people losing their accounts to different reasons and it seems that the only way to recover them is to be a big social media influencer so I'm out of that option.
But probably it's more related to the way that they are trying to force everyone such ID by restricting capabilities like Firecamp to the players with such ID instead of just allowing people to communicate and find raids (and whatever that app is used for) using their Pokemon go account. When someone forces me to do something it's far more common for me to reject it, if they offer me the option and I can see a benefit then I might bite in.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
It is not about the marker, it is about what it represents. A section of a trail. It is a section of a trail that is being nominated. Many park signs are generic. You wouldn't (or shouldn't) reject a park because the sign is generic.
Re: Emily does a good job, but
That makes no sense for me. Why do they let us choose between two photos, when the only question is "meets this new photo our criteria?"
If I marked in a review both photos as "meets criteria" than it's clear, that the new will be adding. But if I marked one of it as "meets not the criteria", than I expect, that the bad one beeing removed. For what reason this have to exist anymore (as a bad backup in the high niveau map).
You don't make this rules, so I thank you for your advice with the help chat.
