Re: Chased off By the manger
It is sad that it has escalated to the property owner chasing off the raiders, I don't know that buying a drink will fix things at this point. I can understand the feelings of the players who were put off by the behavior and don't want to start patronizing the shop now. Yes, the property owner is fully in their rights to ask the players to leave, particularly if they were taking up the majority of limited spaces at the shop. The players should have been mindful to avoid potentially impacting business, and should consider buying a drink now and then. But business owners also really need to remember that these situations can have effects down the road.
We had a local historic home that was converted to an event center. The early Pokemon Go community contacted them to host a pokemon event there, and the location had 2 stops that were both lured up and a gym right next door, and going to that event helped introduce people to the location. Later, some disrespectful pokemon players walked right through a wedding taking place in the lawn, apparently to raid at that gym. This made the location's owners so angry, they got their stops removed, and started yelling at players who used the public, streetside parking to access that gym across the street. Soon after that gym across the street got set to be closed for all but 3 hours a week because it's a genealogy center with very limited hours. I am in no way defending the actions of those pokemon players who were rude to the event center. However I was so disappointed with the feud behavior of the owners that I stopped going to any sort of events there, and I don't think I'm the only one. Recently the event center has changed hands, I hope the new owners will foster a better relationship with the community.
Respect is a 2 way street.
Re: Chased off By the manger
I would of ordered a coffee first because I like to support small businesses, then raided.
Re: Issue with Arena Formation Following New PokeStop
That's not how the rules work. If you have 5 Pokéstops and 2 Gyms in one Level 14 S2 Cell, that's working correctly, as you get a Gym at 2, 6 and 20 active wayspots in the Cell. So you need 13 more Pokéstops in order for the third Gym to be created. This also isn't particularly a Wayfarer issue.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
All accounts that have received well-deserved bans here will again gleefully create their foolishness on the new forum? Good luck to all of us.
Re: Nomination Not Accepted: Temporary/Seasonal or Not Distinct
three of my trailmarkers have been rejected by exact the same reason. I just think its some people that dislike trailmarkers as waypoints. Hard to get them through, they must have had enough positive rewievs, as they have been in voting for over a month. It feels like you need, lets say 20 upvotes to get something through, but only 5 don`t ,to bash it away.
Re: My account has been reset to starting point
The end of the universe... Just Niantic support saying 'Thanks for your report, explorer '
Re: Chased off By the manger
I honestly didn’t think we were being disrespectful in anyway. I understand why she was wanted us to leave, but the parking lot was empty. When she ask us to leave, we just said okay and left. I will say, we won’t be going back as Pokemon players or customers. Most of us have been there before for coffee, and that is why we were so taken back by her response. I don’t feel like we should have to buy something to use a gym, that being said my wife was planning on going in to get us something after the raid. I do understand this is not a wayfarer problem, but a lot of ppl here are very knowledgeable about things like this, and give good advice. I appreciate the advice. We’re not certain what we’re gonna do yet.
Re: Chased off By the manger
@Zuddy1-PGO You weren't being asked to buy something to use a gym... you were being asked to buy something in order to use private property. The fact that you happened to be using that property to play a mobile game is completely irrelevant to the discussion, and the manager's request was perfectly reasonable. I understand that this is frustrating to you, but although I don't know the specifics it's very likely that you could have raided at the shop without trespassing.
My advice, as someone with a decade of learning how to play mobile games respectfully and unobtrusively, is to approach this as a learning experience.
Re: Has the AI or Staff rejected all old edits?
@NianticTintino-ING, in addition to and distinctly different from the "Edit Apocalypse", the ongoing issue of new title edits being auto-rejected immediately upon submission is also extremely frustrating. Title edits are now auto-rejected frequently and seemingly randomly regardless of the quality of the edit. Once a title edit has been auto-rejected once, re-submitting the same title edit will always result in an auto-rejection. This is especially aggravating because in my personal experience, this has happened to me for very high quality title corrections, even just typo corrections. These edits should be reviewed by the actual community, not auto-rejected by a bot, and the community should decide whether to accept or reject them. At this point, it seems like Niantic's AI tool cannot handle this job of initial screening. It needs to be be able to do its job without mistakenly rejecting high quality submissions.
