- "New Ambassador Privileges
- Ambassadors will have some additional forum moderation privileges to ensure the community continues to be a safe, fun, and inviting environment for all Explorers. Some of these new privileges will include editing, deleting, and closing of threads and posts. We will test this out and revisit as we see needed. "
I have some problems with this. I have already ran into an some issues where the Ambassadors don't read before they commented. And they seem to be on a high hose a lot in comments I read. More into trying to boast more then help. Given the power to delete post doesn't set well.
Now I am not wanting to make anyone mad but I think there needs to be a check and balance on this from Niantic. No free reins on this one.
Re: My suggestions are always refused, what am I doing wrong
@Faversham71-PGO is spot on with what they're saying, regardless of whether you disagree with it. They have been previously clarified to be ineligible. The sign itself is not a location worth exploring. You wouldn't bring someone from out of town to solely come and see that sign - it's not like the famous Las Vegas or Hollywood signs as those are iconic tourist attractions.
Just because others have been mistakenly approved, or approved when criteria was different, it doesn't change the fact that in the here and now, they don't meet the current criteria. The automated filter is designed to prevent low quality nominations that don't meet the criteria from entering the review queue, so the fact it caught this nomination was perfectly valid in this case, and you shouldn't be looking for a way around the filter for this nomination.
Additionally, being able to get resources in a game is not a valid reason in and of itself for suggesting a wayspot. Wayfarer isn't a game, it doesn't care about in game mechanics. It exists to be a database of locations that are great places to socialise, exercise or explore. The fact that certain games borrow certain wayspots from the database isn't really relevant to the purpose of wayfarer.
I can appreciate that from a gameplay perspective, US neighbourhood developments are usually pretty bad for wayspots. I don't know why the architects and planners behind them seem to be almost allergic to providing public amenities in a place where there is a large amount of people (it's not like that in the UK at all), but it is what it is. I have looked at the map and can see you do have probably more wayspots local to you than the average US neighbourhood development has, assuming you count the ones up near The Knolls as still local, as they seem to be within a reasonable walking distance of what you tried to submit.

Oh damn, I thought the déjà vu was strong a minute ago.
Re: Sensitive Location?
It was part of the November 2020 criteria reset. There used to be a web page for potentially confusing nominations and memorials were specified to be 1* (bearing in mind the criteria reset happened during the old review system) unless they were for a significant person or event. The list probably does still exist somewhere, but Niantic has a habit of moving stuff around and misplacing it.
That was the last time anything was said about them though, and as nothing has been said since that would overrule that, then it still stands that memorials need to be for significant people.
As for the rejection reason, you may disagree with sensitive, but I know that if these were my family members and they'd passed fairly recently (bearing in mind I have no idea when these two people actually passed), I wouldn't want a personal memorial for them turning into a wayspot. So I would see it as potentially sensitive from that regard. Even if it is the wrong reason though, it is still correct to reject it if they're not significant.
Re: LDS and Niantic Games
I do know of churches that used to have Wayspots, but they requested their removal due to the large number of people just parking in their lot and playing the games. One large Catholic church had 3 or 4 in the past, 1 for the church, 1 for a picnic pavilion, 1 for a statue that I can remember. The Wayspots have been gone for years, and it most likely is because they didn't like players coming for non-church reasons at any hour to play; they most likely saw this activity as being disrespectful, so they put a stop to it.
I don't see these removed Wayspots as a loss though, as there have been new ones approved nearby, especially at a park, bowling alley, golf driving range, and some public art at a newer shopping area.
If this church really wanted to encourage players to start attending service there or look into Catholicism, I think they would have kept the Wayspots up and tried to change the descriptions to promote the religion. I don't know if the descriptions would have been accepted though, even in community voting.
So, while there may be church members working to change titles and/or descriptions, I don't think it's a concerted effort by any of the churches. It's more likely that members that play the games are submitting edits worship at those churches.
Re: Removal of Wayspot from Cypress Hills Cemetery
Thing is the owners of this cemetery no longer wish for it to be in the game the guy even emailed niantic to get it removed. It just doesn’t belong in the game. I dont enjoy being a fun killer but i personally got removed from the property because i was playing it before i wasn’t causing a problem and then i contacted the owners and they told me they dont wish it to be in the game any more.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
It'll be going on both which is why it'll take some time as we work on getting it translated.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
Thanks for bringing this up. I'll be working with the Ambassadors to have a collective and updated "criteria clarification" making it easier for folks to identify what the most recent criteria are. This will be in the new community soon after launch.

It's local business and not a gallery. More like a Showcase If not Even that. Here is a link For company pages: https://r-wood.fi/
