Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
While I'm glad they gave us notice of the upcoming change, I wish they could be more open about their intentions, thoughts, and plans.
These Vanilla forums has been something like an old pair of training shoes. We've grown accustomed to how it feels in them, even if they don't really give us the best comfort or support or style.
Are they going to try to grow their pool of Wayfarers by adding new users? Try to keep people engaged longer? Or put us out to pasture?
Perhaps human reviewers have no place in NIA's future plans, since they can give 'missions' to players to photo/scan spots from FourSquare, and use Emily to review them.
Are they adding staff, reducing costs, going in a new direction? Which is it? Why? What should we do to prepare?
As for what I would:
Information, freely shared.
Less language filtration with better human moderation.
Ease of navigation.
More comprehensive, more comprehensible guidance.
Be more careful. Use words correctly and don't let one guy's unconsidered off-hand remarks unbalance everybody's efforts.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I'm cynical that this will go well, Niantic have such a bad record of listening to community suggestions, providing adequate communication or even having basic respect most of the time.
I really do hope this is a great positive step toward something better. It is long overdue and so much trust has been lost by so many at this point.
I still have some small hope that things will improve otherwise I wouldn't still be here. Please prove me wrong, we desperately need change!
Re: How do you create a nomination
hello and welcome @RustedAloePlant-PGO
In addition this is an excellent post
@Glawhantojar-PGO please be prepared to repost on the new forum - I will be lost without it. 😂
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
why have any wayspots at all if we're going to be so reductive.
Re: Trailmarker
Hi
In my opinion, whitout pointing out that I like trails/trailmarkers or not, there have to be three essential things be done:
- Make absolutly clear, what niantics willing is (perhaps with photo examples yes/no)
- Include an easy way to reject it with this reason
- If the current willing is against this POIs, create an email which pointed out this fact. F.e. ... your wayspot doesn't meets our current criterias anymore ... Whitout warning character, only information.
Re: Wayspots for pokemon/Ingress in conflict?
ingress came first, so maybe your game ruins the game we like to play?
purely hypothetical of course, we all know neither game ruins the other. it's really a terrible way to frame the situation.
Re: Mural
After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspots in question. Thanks!

Re: Why can’t an area for activity not be approved?
A wider picture of a rock is still a picture of a rock. Rocks typically aren't eligible.
