Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
i wonder what the reason for that one is. Those are not stickers so can’t be seen as temporary.
if they go for ‘mass produced’ again, then they can remove everything. I mean, churches for example, they are every where. I think my small town already has at least 3. They maybe look different but all build with bricks. A lot of buildings are build with bricks.
joking of course, but the mass produced thing is also the really vague.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
This action by Niantic and the Wayfarer team is rather troubling, especially given that communications with the community will become obsolete with forums discontinuing in the near future. I personally have over 32k reviews, over 700 portals (not including from my linked Pokemon Go account), and actively look to add and enhance the community by submitting quality submissions through the Canada and the US (soon to be Europe). I recently submitted trail portals in a local state park, that 97% of them passed. The trail markers submitted entailed the park, and encourages exploration & exercise (which, meet criteria). I submitted in the location because Red portals are fairly active, ultimately creating a Machina farm. I opened Pokemon Go, and created about 4 gyms that I noticed. I personally would ride my mountain bike, throughout the trails on a weekly basis, and when I went there today, over 40 portals were removed, including the older portals submitted ten years ago. I personally find the clarification of trail guidelines convoluted and contradictory, and the removal of portals with little, to no notification, interesting at best, I recently completed the survey before this incident, and my answers would be significantly different if I took the survey today.
Re: Are trailmarkers no longer good wayspots?
Generic street signs are ineligible - trails are promoted as a great place to exercise by Niantic.
Re: Removal of inaccessible gyms
In Ingress you can report a wayspot if you can just see it on screen.
That being said, if it's just behind a gate in an area where only some people have access (like in a theme park, in a gated community, on a business property, etc.), that is not against the rules and they're considered perfectly valid. Feel free to share where they are and why you think they might be invalid.
Re: Private Appeal Process Needed
Lot of overthinking in this discussion. That wayspot is in a city where Google Maps shows property lines. Take a look:
Niantic is being fussy on this one, but that's their right. It's their database.
Sometimes, you just to accept you're not going to win them all.
Re: LDS and Niantic Games
Somebody at Niantic typed up a whole bunch of rules and requirements relating to Routes that included language banning proselytizing. They want their stuff to appear either neutral or positive for the community as a whole. It won't be a positive look if factions are fighting over title/description edits.
Re: Drake Village appeal
You can't appeal rejected nominations here. You need to wait until it's been 25 days since your last appeal in wayfarer and then the button will appear for you to use it.
That said, the sign itself doesn't really seem to meet criteria. Maybe try resubmitting it as a coffee shop rather than a sign?
Re: Invalid Wayspot Appeal (Water Fountain)
After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question. Thanks!

Re: 2 legit portals removed
There's a difference between "single family private residential property" and "private property". Things on the property of a business, or on a multi-family property such as a block of flats/apartments, are fine. It's just things on single family private residences that are the issue. If you think you have found other wayspots on single family private residential property, you can report them as invalid.
Re: How to see the status of a ticket on Wayfarer Support
Can you think of a single other company where users aren't able to view their reports or tickets? Or sends no no email or text about its resolution?
