I got one today too. I was expecting it since my husband's account had already the same email a month ago for submitting and have accepted the same type of trail markers. They have been removed and mine have as well. It is fine they are gone but the warning email is so harsh. I have a LOT of a different type of trail marker in the dunes where there are a lot of various hiking trails (the ones that were removed were in our small town but were still official walking trail markers) and I am curious if they are going to go after those next and if so will I get a 30 day ban? I am now terrified of having my Pogo account banned because of POIs that were accepted and nominated when trail markers were clearly acceptable. Now I won't nominate anything anymore and I have stopped voting. I only hope I won't lose my account for any length of time. The email is harsh and scary. More clarity needs brought about the trail markers but I don't know if we are going to get it. This discussion has been brought up a lot lately and the only response we have had has made the situation even more confusing. It is only scaring people away from Wayfarer and away from nominating and voting.

How are the language filters?

They're placemarkers for a distinct section of trail - that's the important point. Goalposts all look pretty much the same but you don't expect them to all look radically different when used as markers for football pitches.

Is it really "distinct," though? I bet it looks exactly like every other marker on the trail. I bet that if you showed us photos of all the trail markers, nobody would be able tell them soap without doing a forensic examination of the photos. (The plants in the background are more distinct than the pole!)

Distinct objects are distinguishable from each other. That's just a pole that tells people they aren't lost. It's as "district" as a fire hydrant or stop sign.

This could just be an internet meme that intersects with that religious organization and NIA games.

It could also be an organized effort that Niantic is cooperating in.

Or it could be evidence of some sort of spoofing activity, or….

The Wayfarer staff could look into this, if they aren't already engaged in it. I wonder if they'll inform us?
