Re: LDS and Niantic Games
Where does this stand?
An individual may choose to travel about like Johnny Appleseed, editing Wayspots to make them homogeneous. This is acceptable so long as the individual uses their own words. If they are copying directly from a Church website or book they are crossing a line.
These edits seem kind of boring, and make it difficult to differentiate POIs in Ingress, so others might alter them. Both actions are considered to be legitimate, but they will cause extra effort for reviewers until or unless Niantic creates an automated solution to this conflict.
It is not legitimate for a Wayfarer to copy descriptions from a third party. Anybody emulating and reproducing these edits must paraphrase differently enough to be their own words. To do otherwise invites rejection for third-party text.
Re: Violations at Tao Dan park
Dear Niantic,
This report is false and based on personal hatred rather than a desire to contribute to the community.
Here is the evidence:
- Tao Dan Park has been a popular location in the Pokemon Go Vietnam community since the game's release. It has been featured in many Vietnamese mainstream media outlets.
- From the game's launch in 2016 to the present (2024), the park has been the site of many special Pokemon Go events, attracting a large number of players and forming a large and healthy community.
- There is no evidence that any players have ever been at risk or harmed at this location.
The resetting of the PokéStop based on the hateful personal opinion of this player is having a negative impact on the entire Pokemon Go Vietnam player community in **** Chi Minh City. It could even destroy the connection of a large and loyal community of players to the game.
We urge Niantic to restore all PokéStops to their previous state and to provide special protection for this area, which has connected thousands of Trainers and created an unparalleled Pokemon Go community.

Re: The title or description is misspelled
Personally I'm pretty lenient. Maybe the language they have submitted in isn't there first language, they may be dyslexic, lots of reasons :)
The first I'd be happy to accept, the second less so

Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
The trails are encouraging exercise, and those are (probably) still good wayspots. The trailmarkers are just the excuse to lazily turn one exercise wayspot into 10 or 20.
Re: 2 pokestop stuck
Would there be any point to that?
People call them pokestops because Niantic tell them that's what they are submitting.
Changing the title after seems like a waste of Ambassador time and straying towards pedantry.
Re: Love a fake nomination
I see that this nomination has already been rejected by the community. We are already reviewing other submission from this submitter and will take necessary action once the review is complete. Thanks,
NianticAaron
Re: Trailmarker
We've already voiced our disagreement with Aaron. I'm sure he's well aware of just how many disagrees that comment has. The difference between him and you though is that he hasn't responded publicly (yet), whereas you keep responding in an unpleasant manner, and so you're repeatedly getting people replying to you who disagree with your opinion and your attitude.
I think a lot of us are hoping the the ambassadors can help with this situation as they have a more direct communication with Niantic (as opposed to most of us who get the odd response on here if they're having a good day).
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no one is trying to claim otherwise. Yours is very clearly in the minority here, but you are still entitled to it. You are being very acerbic with the way you're presenting that opinion though (it honestly feels like you're bordering on trollish behaviour), and that's likely why you're getting the replies that you are. A little bit more courtesy and politeness would likely earn you the same courtesy and politeness from other users (though I don't expect the number of disagrees you're getting to go down, as clearly a lot of people do disagree with your opinion, and that's completely valid).
I wholeheartedly disagree with the fact that users are getting warnings for things that have been (and to all intents should still be) prime examples of perfectly acceptable wayspots. I also wholeheartedly disagree that they're low quality wayspots, as that's somewhat subjective and they do exactly what they're meant to do - get people out exercising and navigating trails.
Re: Invalid (?) Swimming Pool
It's not clear to many people - they were invalid in the past but despite repeated requests for clarification on the current situation from multiple members we've been met with an unhelpful silence.
