Re: Love a fake nomination
I see that this nomination has already been rejected by the community. We are already reviewing other submission from this submitter and will take necessary action once the review is complete. Thanks,
NianticAaron
Re: Trailmarker
We've already voiced our disagreement with Aaron. I'm sure he's well aware of just how many disagrees that comment has. The difference between him and you though is that he hasn't responded publicly (yet), whereas you keep responding in an unpleasant manner, and so you're repeatedly getting people replying to you who disagree with your opinion and your attitude.
I think a lot of us are hoping the the ambassadors can help with this situation as they have a more direct communication with Niantic (as opposed to most of us who get the odd response on here if they're having a good day).
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no one is trying to claim otherwise. Yours is very clearly in the minority here, but you are still entitled to it. You are being very acerbic with the way you're presenting that opinion though (it honestly feels like you're bordering on trollish behaviour), and that's likely why you're getting the replies that you are. A little bit more courtesy and politeness would likely earn you the same courtesy and politeness from other users (though I don't expect the number of disagrees you're getting to go down, as clearly a lot of people do disagree with your opinion, and that's completely valid).
I wholeheartedly disagree with the fact that users are getting warnings for things that have been (and to all intents should still be) prime examples of perfectly acceptable wayspots. I also wholeheartedly disagree that they're low quality wayspots, as that's somewhat subjective and they do exactly what they're meant to do - get people out exercising and navigating trails.
Re: Invalid (?) Swimming Pool
It's not clear to many people - they were invalid in the past but despite repeated requests for clarification on the current situation from multiple members we've been met with an unhelpful silence.
Re: How do I improve this submission?
Just a minor quibble: Its okay to post that the spot is NOT a good wayspot. It doesn't have to be a positive suggestion to be worth posting. Sometimes people do ask about submissions that can't be improved, or is even on the banned/ineligible list.
But if your posting that the spot simply doesn't make a good way spot, don't be insulting. Just say you don't think it can be improved as its not a good spot to socialize/exercise/explore.
It's pretty common for people new to wayfarer, to nominate spots that are no good, because they see similiar things that made it into the game before the Criteria changed or because it slipped through reviews and come her asking "Why is my spot rejected when same thing is in game".
Posting that a spot is NOT a good wayspot and can't be improved… isn't negative, it's actually a positive response. Just as you said don't be insulting about it.
Re: 2 pokestop stuck
I do this all the time. The nomination is out of grace period for sure if it is already in voting, and will get a quick decision.
Re: LDS and Niantic Games
@SeaprincessHNB-PGO It's entirely possible to be annoyed by the way a group's behavior impacts you without hating the group, or more specifically without hating the people in that group. I'm annoyed when members of any religious organization attempt to convert me to their faith but I don't hate them for it… I just find their behavior disrespectful. I get properly angry when they attempt to use the legal system to impose parts of their religion on me but that's a topic best explored outside of this forum.
Back to the topic at hand, if these edits are being run through the review system rather than being coordinated with Niantic then I don't think there's anything stopping us from submitting new edits to undo them.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I don’t want to divert this thread, but I think it’s a really positive move to enable edit rejections to be appealed in this way.
In an ideal world I would welcome the situation where a forum based appeals section as we have now becomes pretty much obsolete.
Re: There's no pokestops around me for several dozen kilometers, Niantic just rejected me nomination.
”because there’s no other PokéStops around” isn’t a reason for the community/Niantic to accept your nomination.
A Wayspot needs to be one of the below:
- A great place for exercise
- A great place for exploration
- A great place to be social with others
You mentioned you nominated a store, which generally doesn’t meet any of those. But do feel free to share your nominations so that people can tell you definitively and help you improve.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
Those are just bad nominations.
The Showcase is obviously scrutinised then hand picked by someone at Niantic deemed worthy enough to understand and able to highlight a Wayspots merits and how it aligns with the their philosophy through their choice.
