Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Niantic state trails are a great place to exercise - the trail markers are placeholders for the trail - placeholders do not have to be distinctive if the trail section is distinctive.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Do categories help Wayfarers? Do they help enough to be worth the effort of drilling down and searching for one or more correct ones? Is it worth adding them during review?
If categories are non-existent from Ingress, and optional during reviewing, who actually benefits from them?
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I did not know that tbh! I only assumed the AI looked at it in the first 24h and then if it didn't get rejected, you were good to go.
Re: Criteria for new spots - Every playground should be removed.
Hi @Hosette-ING
OK, thank you for your post and information, I agree with this as well.
Apparently I have too strict a view of the criteria. ;-)
Thank you.

Re: Invalid Wayspot Appeal (Water Fountain)
After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question. Thanks!

Re: How can my account get unbanned in PGO
Have you tried Niantic Support Twitter? or X now i guess? they will sometimes start a direct message with me there.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Niantic staff (contractors?) were also approving just about anything that was a trail marker at light speed.
Re: MOVIMIENTO EN PORTALES/POKEPARADAS
None of this is wayfarer related. The proximity rules are determined by the development team for each game, and so bringing this up on the wayfarer forum won't get you anywhere as the wayfarer team are not responsible for the rules.
Also, the rule for Ingress is 20 metres, not 40 metres.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Please do not spread your own ideas and suppositions about what could get Wayfinders in this way.
The Wayfarer Team have been clear that if you submit genuine official trail markers correctly, and review correctly you are not committing abuse and therefore not subject to sanctions under the abuse ladder.
If you do something as a wayfinder that can be considered low quality then you might get an “Educational email”. For example if you @XK150-ING consistently whilst reviewing answer one of the top 4 questions 👎 wrongly in order to register a reject, then you risk receiving an “educational email”
You refer to “low effort trailmarkers”. This is a very unhelpful conjunction of phrases. A wayfinder may put low effort into presenting a nomination- that is something we would say for any nomination is not recommended as wayfinders should always try to present a good case. However none of the questions in the review flow ask directly if the submitter has put in low effort. You might find the photo, title or description poor or inaccurate but it really has to be a very poor photo and an inaccurate description to warrant a 👎 a mediocre one will warrant a IDK.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I thought it was important to cross reference to the post that the forum is closing as I suspect a large section of users arrive here simple to use the admin function of submitting an appeal and don't necessarily look around.
