Re: Invalid Wayspot Appeal - Emmanuel M.E. Church Historical Cornerstone
Thanks for the appeal, @arealrarewheel-ING. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.

Re: LDS and Niantic Games
This is absolutely something coordinated, and I'm really curious who's behind it. They're really submitting edits across the country. I'm reviewing them here in Washington. I've heard of people seeing them in Oregon and Georgia. If you look on the Mission Creator map you can see that these copy/paste edits have already been accepted in multiple states. There's either a very large amount of players submitting these edits, or they're using the forbidden Wayfarer App to submit these edits.
Why does this tick me off? They're making it so that every single LDS church has the exact same title and description. Wayspots should have unique titles and descriptions that set them apart from other Wayspots, according to the content guidelines. Plus, the idea that an organization (especially one with an INCREDIBLY large amount of money) can use brute force to impose their will on an open-source project just feels scummy. Plus the descriptions are kind of creepy
Re: Little free library, I don’t trust them…
I have found tons of fake LFLs over the years. There's one area where somebody would go take pictures of an LFL from different angles and then submit it in half a dozen different locations. I think I found 30-40 fake/duplicate LFLs in total.
Re: Trailmarker
I have no pretense at being insightful the opposite in fact.
I do have some nice walks for you if you'd like to chill out a bit :)
Re: Little free library, I don’t trust them…
Many Little free libraries are registered on a map, you can use that to validate their legitimacy. If it's not on the map I wouldn't necessarily say it's not real, but if you can find it all the better.
There are a ton of little free libraries that homeowners have installed outside of their houses, as they like to help their communities. However, these are considered private property and should be rejected. Some people make the argument that if it's on the "road verge" that's technically public property so it's ok but this violates the spirit of the rule that was put in place to avoid people walking on people's private property to access Wayspots.
Like any other nomination if you look at the Wayspot photo and the supporting photo/information and you still believe the nomination is not where they say it is then you should reject it under Accuracy → Inaccurate location.
If you're not sure you can also click "I don't know" for the Accuracy portion as well.
Re: Are trailmarkers no longer good wayspots?
Maybe it's because of a stray comment, deep in the 2nd or 3rd page of a post, that a Niantic employee made, about trail markers. It got repeated, and as it got repeated, it grew - until some communities were warning others that trail markers are not good at all anymore.
I also think that Niantic employee was only addressing how Niantic is trying to back out all the abuse in the Netherlands. They didn't mean it applied everywhere.
Would be nice if Niantic could thoughtfully clarify. But they do business by random comments, not by thoughtful clarifications.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I think you should take time to revisit and review the acceptance criteria again.
Anyone repeatedly going against criteria risks being viewed as a poor reviewer and may receive reminders to consider re-educating themselves.
Re: New account?
I'll definitely be taken a final-day screenshot of my Profile page, just to look back on and smile! :)
New account?
I was reading a post and heard them say something about the community moving. I hadn’t heard anything of this so I checked the “news” tab and sure enough it was true! This sounds exciting but I have one question for anyone who may know. Will we keep our accounts? By this I mean will we keep our badges and account progress etc. I would not be that sad if I lost my progress but I would just like to know. Thanks, Shakananas
