Re: Little free library, I don’t trust them…
Many Little free libraries are registered on a map, you can use that to validate their legitimacy. If it's not on the map I wouldn't necessarily say it's not real, but if you can find it all the better.
There are a ton of little free libraries that homeowners have installed outside of their houses, as they like to help their communities. However, these are considered private property and should be rejected. Some people make the argument that if it's on the "road verge" that's technically public property so it's ok but this violates the spirit of the rule that was put in place to avoid people walking on people's private property to access Wayspots.
Like any other nomination if you look at the Wayspot photo and the supporting photo/information and you still believe the nomination is not where they say it is then you should reject it under Accuracy → Inaccurate location.
If you're not sure you can also click "I don't know" for the Accuracy portion as well.
Re: Are trailmarkers no longer good wayspots?
Maybe it's because of a stray comment, deep in the 2nd or 3rd page of a post, that a Niantic employee made, about trail markers. It got repeated, and as it got repeated, it grew - until some communities were warning others that trail markers are not good at all anymore.
I also think that Niantic employee was only addressing how Niantic is trying to back out all the abuse in the Netherlands. They didn't mean it applied everywhere.
Would be nice if Niantic could thoughtfully clarify. But they do business by random comments, not by thoughtful clarifications.
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I think you should take time to revisit and review the acceptance criteria again.
Anyone repeatedly going against criteria risks being viewed as a poor reviewer and may receive reminders to consider re-educating themselves.
Re: New account?
I'll definitely be taken a final-day screenshot of my Profile page, just to look back on and smile! :)
New account?
I was reading a post and heard them say something about the community moving. I hadn’t heard anything of this so I checked the “news” tab and sure enough it was true! This sounds exciting but I have one question for anyone who may know. Will we keep our accounts? By this I mean will we keep our badges and account progress etc. I would not be that sad if I lost my progress but I would just like to know. Thanks, Shakananas
Re: Buddy AR is currently unavalaible on this device. Help with this topic
This is a forum for Wayfarer, not Pokémon GO, so wanted to clarify that Pokémon GO specific issues that have no Wayfarer involvement should not be raised here.
Re: Buddy AR is currently unavalaible on this device. Help with this topic
This isn’t a Wayfarer issue. It would need raising in your Pokémon GO app.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
We are trying something - not sure it will work, but we are attempting to address translation issues.
And when I say "we", I mean that the ambos are serving as advisors on this. We can't make any real implementation changes. If we can find solutions that are easy to implement, we recommend those and how they can bring benefits or solve problems we've seen in the current forum. Thankfully, the Niantic staff have been very happy to accept these recommendations, especially when they have proven to work on other version of the platform.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
We've been playing around in a test environment for a few days on the new forum platform. It is different, but you'll get the hang of it. My biggest advice is to engage with the automated onboarding. It will walk you through some pretty basic things that are not terribly obvious but that really help you get oriented to the new place. You even earn badges for going through it!
