Re: LDS and Niantic Games
Out in the real world, every venue has ample opportunity to control their own signs and messaging.
In Wayfarer, we choose, curate, and accept Points of Interest from the users' perspective. This means considering what is unique, interesting, special about the particular place, and sharing this in our own words.
The old Wayfarers were including location information and describing the area which was being served. The new, corporate branding is amplifying the voice of the parent organization, instead.
Re: Multiple Location Edits (10-200m) and Abuse Report
Based on the evidence provided, we’ve made the necessary changes to the Wayspots location. Thanks!

Re: More Appeals Coming (Discussion)
You are very fortunate to have not needed to use the appeal system. A lot of this is very dependent on your local area and those nominating and those reviewing having the same understanding of eligibility and acceptability in how they assess under the review flow questions.
With regard to edits, yes I have edit’s languishing somewhere in the system. I have seen recent mega improvements with some new photos being instant accepted so I am hopeful things are changing.
Re: 2 legit portals removed
There's a difference between "single family private residential property" and "private property". Things on the property of a business, or on a multi-family property such as a block of flats/apartments, are fine. It's just things on single family private residences that are the issue. If you think you have found other wayspots on single family private residential property, you can report them as invalid.
Re: New Forum, New Adventures, Same Explorer Community - Discussion
I thought it might be useful to provide an insight into some of the changes being envisioned to the forum.
I am very open to thoughts and reactions as I would like to listen to what you have to say.
Two of the key forum areas have been Nomination Improvement and Criteria Clarifications. They are well used, but it’s not always clear what can and or should be posted there - or at least that is a conclusion I have come to. These should cover the 2 main activities of a wayfinder, nominating and reviewing. Reviewing in particular in this old structure was not promoted as an activity very much outside of challenges.
The discussions that have taken place include great examples of peer support - various points of view given, suggestions made and encouragement to keep trying resulting in some great outcomes.
With all that in mind we are looking at channels called Nomination Support and Reviewing Support. The emphasis being on support - wanting support and being happy to give support.
I would see a lot of questions about interpretation of criteria cropping up in the review process, not disappearing but a change in emphasis.
What do you think about this?
Re: Invalid Wayspot - Campo da Street Football in Via Canale dell’Erba
Here a translation of the sign, there no public access anymore
Re: Another Niantics review where the community DID NOT decide.
Who’s disagreeing 🤔
Re: Violations at Tao Dan park
Keep in mind that this particular user has wrecked havoc and removed Pokestops and Gyms that are 100% eligible per Wayfarer Community Guidelines. And besides, removing these Pokestops will harm the community there, which is a big no-no.
Re: Chased off By the manger
I agree, my one buddy that’s was with me. He said he was going to stop in and talk to them. I think one of the employees that works there set it up.
