How to improve this unique "generic business"

I've held off on submitting local businesses for this exact reason, but with the new guidelines, I thought...maybe this one would work, cause it has it all: Great spot to gather, safe and open 24/7, been featured on awesome TV shows and is different from everything around it. And to no surprise BAM generic business.

Any thoughts how to make it better? So IF i decide to nominate it again, I don't waste my time.

Its I would say subjective whether this is getting rated as generic or as a local hotspot. Its a try and error, sadly. I would put more information in the description, the extra information are great.

I agree that you should put some of that info in the description, so that whenever someone walks around and notices that wayspot they can read the info that explain why that's a wayspot.

It's clear that most reviewers didn't even bother to look past your description (assuming they even got that far). But honestly, you didn't put any effort into the description either. If you put all the interesting points in the supporting statement, your description isn't doing its job.

I agree with the other. The description does make it feel generic. Don't write everything on additional info especially for a restaurant. Keep in mind that their are reviewers who 1* every business no matter how much effort you make, so you will have to try a few times before getting it accepted.

I agree with the above that the description leaves a lot to be desired. You're burying the good stuff in the "additional info," instead of giving it more prominence for reviewers while also sharing that information with anyone who reads a wayspot description in-game.

I'd make the description something like: "One of the last freestanding diners in New York, Pete's has been featured in shows such as Homeland and The Punisher. Opening in 2007, the owners have simply tagged it as 'The Place to Eat.'" I think the TV show connections are the strongest part of your case, and that would put them front and center. Then you can remove a lot of your Supporting Info and pare it down to focus on the helpful URL, which verifies what you've put in your description.

It's SO hard to get a business through. Every comment made has been spot on. I wanted to add that long statements in the supporting info get cut off for reviewers, and they probably weren't even getting to your link. I try to keep my supporting statements under 200 characters. What @flatmatt-PGO wrote for the description is great.

I would love to see this become a wayspot. Maybe don't upgrade it when you resubmit. It seems like upgraded nominations are 50/50 on being accepted or rejected even if I felt it was a 5* nomination. I think you want as many eyes on this as you can get.

Thanks all. I've resubmitted it and taken into account all your feedback.

I'm curious about not upgrading it? It does seem like that takes a VERY long time to go through the process (a couple of my early submissions that aren't great have been in voting for a while).

In your experience what is the value of not upgrading? Is it that more people have to vote on it? Or is this one of those mysterious, no one knows how it works, types of things?

My experience once you upgrade your submission goes to people not in your geographical location so they may not know or care of the importance of your business. Local reviewers most likely know about the business and are more likely to agree with your nomination. Plus with business’s it may be a wasted upgrade since they are hard to pass as is. So your better off using an upgrade on things that should pass. Ie parks, baseball fields

Accepted. And even with using an upgrade because I'm impatient. Thanks all!
