Here's one of the examples pulled from @Dice976jr-ING PDF provided.
Personally, I would rate these highly, however visibility might take a hit.
I wouldn't rate those specific ones highly since it doesn;t have a trail name, and Niantic has specified that markers without trail names are not eligible.
There's no name for the trail on them, so they're about as generic as a public footpath sign is in the UK.
Precisely this.
Good point, @GearGlider-ING 👍
How are directories not just maps of generic businesses/advertisements?
Casey deemed both Mall Directories ineligible and "digital signs" used for advertisements as ineligible. What makes you think combining them together makes them now eligible?
What does remote raiding have to do with this thread. Please stay on topic.
Generic signs, no.
IF they have named trails and named trail markers, possibly.
IF a notice board is actively posting and updating free or publicly accessible community events, possibly.
Excellent points.
Not good points.
Adding valid stops/gyms (waypoints) is absoutely fine but remote raiding has nothing to do with Wayfarer or this discussion. Please stay on topic.
This has nothing to do with this thread. Please stop derailing. The Wayfarer forum is not your personal soapbox.
Not at the cost of bastardizing the whole wayfarer system. Niantic could have chosen another system to distribute their augmented reality gameplay locations, but they chose to create a network of interesting places to visit. They then outlined what things they wanted so they could crowdsource the review of player submitted nominations of the interesting places to use in their games after they realized they network was too large for them to manage internally. Let's stick with nominating cool things and, as reviewers, giving high marks to cool things. Let's not try to add a bunch of uninteresting things just to have more stops, gyms, portals, inns, etc. because of remote raids.
Can we stay on topic here, guys?
Again, not up to you. Stop trying to change the criteria and influence the guidelines. See below comment from Casey.
Thanks for the reminder.
We can discuss what could be eligible, and that got us this:
Adding, I think we can conclude NAMED trails and MARKED paths can be eligible. But we've already gotten the statement that generic mall directories are ineligible. Changes to the PoGO gaming system does not change eligibility.
Do you have anything new to contribute or discuss within mall that you need clarification on? If not, then you have no need to continue commenting.
I don't agree with you. A Food-Court is a local hotspot, if its in a Big Area or a Big Mall.
Threads for these questions ("What is an acceptable nomination at <Place X>?") would always be shorter (and kinder) IF they were reduced to this pair instead:
Both lists are very, very short, and regardless if <Place X> is a mall, park, or other large enough area to be able to encompass other potential nominations.
