Are these acceptable as recreation centers that don't fall under the Government list, something else, or not acceptable at all? It's a gray area for me and I can't always tell what exactly it is based off the pictures and map views with no signs indicating anything about it

you can be social there, yes. Also, sometimes the clubhouse does some events or can work as a local hotspot (is special in small villages).
What should I consider them as?
I normally take sports club, because there is no other category that fits

Yeah, the categories in the review section probably could benefit from an update. It is weird that Rec centers are labeled government
