First upgrade not applied

Hello,
I am here for my friend that is not practical about forums.
She has this problem
She reached lvl38 few days ago and since then she started to vote on wayfarer reaching an upgrade. At the time she reached the upgrade she did not yet do a candidature.
Today she did her first candidature and both of us were sure that the first upgrade should automatically have been applied to this first candidature.. but it did not happen. So she is in the situation where she has an upgrade but it seems it has been not applied to her candidature.
Is it normal? How she can apply the upgrade she got?

It needs around 24 hours to use stored upgrades. Just wait a bit.

Is it ok if she pushed on "next (following) update"? Or now she has to take a new upgrade ?
the submission which is marked as "upgrade next" will get the next upgrade. If no submission is marked, the upgrade will get used randomly (only if you have more than one open submission) or get stored (if there is no open submission).
It normally needs up to 24 hours until your newly submitted nomination nomination gets upgraded with a stored upgrade. Just wait a little.
Recently, I've gained two upgrades, but I didn't have any pending nominations to assign them. Today, I submitted one nomination and expected to have it instantly upgraded. When I logged into Wayfarer, it appeared that my nomination wasn't upgraded and I still have two unused upgrades assigned to my account.
Is it a bug? If so, what can I do to have my nomination upgraded?
