So, are blessing boxes given the green light now?

In my opinion, it could maybe be counted as a great place for exploration but I'm not too sure. It used to not be qualified under the previous guidelines unlike little free libraries but now that the guidelines are changed, I wanna know what the community thinks about them,

Hello @Elysion9710-PGO, I'll clear this up for you! Small free libraries are part of our criteria and are included as a nod to education and discovery hence they are eligible Wayspots. Since Blessing boxes do not fall into this category they are considered ineligible.
@NianticGiffard Thank you for the prompt reply that prevents endless debate.
I dont know of blessing boxes, but why wouldn't they be allowed as a nod to religion?
Because charity is not limited to religion.
They aren't related to religion and people that might want to use them might not feel comfortable with groups of people playing around.
That's a fine response and in line with previous AMAs, but in practicality it seems like a lot of reviewers choose to ignore this. I can state that several ones I have specifically rejected have been approved, thus hurting my reviewer rating even though I followed Niantic guidelines.
Are clarifications made by you and @NianticCasey-ING to be taken as criteria for reviewers? Without them being published, won't this put us right back where we were months ago with too many sources to follow?
Yeah, I've definitely seen that line used before under the old set of criteria but the new criteria makes no mention of this "nod to education" you speak of, that's why I was wondering if blessing boxes are somehow accepted now too
That's probably the best answer on this post. Charities could be considered as place to be social with others, but respecting the privacy of the people who need this sort of facilities certainly supersedes wayspot density.
