Game closes as I take the photo for a nomination

It only happens with Pokemon GO. When i press the button for accept that i want that photo to be the pokestop image, the game suddenly closes.
I have no problems doing it with Ingress, its only with Pokemon GO. I have deleted the game, clear cache, clear memory...
Its a Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and the camera resolution is in low and without watermark.
Anyone else has this problem, and knows how to solve it? Thank you

Yes, my Huawei PSmart 2019 does that every time, but if I restart the phone and try again, it works second time round. I hardly ever submit candidate Wayspots, so I've never bothered looking to see whether there was a fix.
I saw in some previous discussions that if you download another camera/photo application and set it as the default it solves this problem.
Unfortunately this happens all too frequently. Despite the community bringing it up since almost the beginning of this website, @NianticCasey-ING somehow didn't think it was an issue and still is only loosely discussing it.

If you haven't already done so, try restarting your phone entirely immediately before doing your nomination. This may free up enough memory to complete the submission process.
Edit: I see @Dookie2754-PGO has already suggested this.
Are you running any other apps in the background? While your phone has 6GB of RAM and should have plenty to send a nomination, running a lot of memory intensive apps in the background will cause the game to crash when submitting.
I have a friend who this also happens to, also (not wayfarer related but still game related) when AR scanning. Both use Android phones, albeit cheap-ish ones.
Does the same ‘workaround’ apply to both?
I had this happen to me. I was able to fix it by going into permissions manager for the camera in settings and enabling one I found in there that mentioned AR. After that it stopped crashing (sadly I didn't get to actually submit as the signal was so terrible!)
I have an iPhone 11, and I haven't had any issues with that, so at least with those, there may not be that kind of an issue.
It happens quite often for me too, with a Samsung S9.
As others said, restarting the phone just before submitting something solved the problem.
It also helped to lower the resolution of the camera.
Thanks to all. I'm just tried to restart the phone just before submitting and it solved the problem. I will do it until Niantic solves this problem. It has no sense that there is such a massive error and they didnt mention it in common errors.
Thanks again to all of you
Its because the game client stores the images in RAM instead of using the internal SSD storage. I'm not sure why Niantic chose this particular method because Ingress Classic did use the internal SSD storage for images before sending it on to Niantic. But they seem to be very committed to this newer method.
I have not used Pokemon GO to submit for quite some time, but had consistent issues with this same thing happening when I did: Take photo, crash. Rinse/repeat.
I've never had Ingress Prime crash during this process.
I would be interested to see the RAM footprint of both games. It could be that Pokemon Go uses more RAM, which would be another reason why nominations should be spun out into a new client.
Interesting suggestion. In addition to what @BaltiCalling-ING said, I've also noticed that the whole submission progress is much smoother and faster via Ingress. Barely any lagging. While with PoGo there's a lot of lags, much longer loading time, and consistent errors apart from the photo crash one.
Another error I often encounter, for instance, is when at the end of the process the game claims that it can't upload my photos for some reason or another. People usually recommend lowering the photo resolution via the camera settings - but I found that if I go back a page or two in the submission process, and then try to resubmit again (without changing anything), it'd suddenly work just fine. Though sometimes it does take a couple of attempts.
I just did a quick test and Pokemon Go consumes almost 1GB of RAM while Ingress Prime is less than 500MB. That would explain why phones with only 2GB of RAM contently crashes when submitting nominations.
Este problema de enviar as fotos tbm ocorre comigo. Na última etapa que click em enviar fala que não é possível enviar a solicitação .
I have the same thing when i nominate. I have a Nokia 6.1 with android 10, 64bits 3 ram. It should be good enough but i can not nominate with it of all the nominations tried i did only 1 got trough. If i nominate i have to use my Friends Nokia 6.1 that has more 4 ram.
Plz Fix it, of the two of im in the one that is reqeusting the most. This bug is preventief me from making beautifull (spontaniously) Waypoint nominations.
Occasionally I have this issue (my phone has 4GB of RAM, happened more often when I used a device with 3GB). Generally, reseting the device, although not ideal, solves the problem. I imagine it is in part caused by background applications therefore. Simply closing the other applications that are running didn't appear to help in my case and I would either have to switch to a different device (via Hotspot) to take the photographs or reset the device.
I love all the helpful comments suggesting that it's probably the phone not the buggy game... Sounds like something Niantic support would say. Because we all know the game is perfectly functional ;)
This happens to me too. I believe my phone has 6GB RAM and mainly just has PoGo and maybe Discord open. It happened earlier, so I just left the waypoint unsubmitted. The game has been breaking on me all day while doing raids, so no surprise it breaks doing something else. #antiphantom2020
pero como pomes la otra aplicacion para la foto ?¿
Same annoying problem. Got 3GB. Mostly can't submit twice in a row without restarting PoGo.
Using the camera for longer than a couple seconds, be it while submitting something or simply taking a photo while having the game running, just will go nomnomnom on the ram and crash the game because there is not enough left. (Well, phones could be a tad more intelligent handling ram...)
If the submitting process would just release the ram again after taking a photo, it wouldn't happen that fast. But the whole game doesn't release any ram in general, it's like Chrome.
Same problem here. At the beginning of this year when I started nominating new Wayspots, sometimes the game suddenly force close itself. Using Samsung Galaxy A50s here.
My friend had this problem and accidentally found that he could take the photo in selfie mode without it crashing. Makes it hard to take an awesome photo, though. I highly recommend leveling up in Ingress to do your submissions if you really enjoy making them. You can submit a photo that was previously taken with Ingress from your home and upload on your wifi.
you can make the photo already and press existing photo then it don't crash
That is only if you are L10 in Ingress. Pokemon Go does not have this feature.
Yes. Still happening. We just have to be patient and keep trying
sabes su se va a solucionae ?
I had the issue of uploading the nomination in Pokemon GO where the upload timed out each time. I have great 5G service. My phone is an iPhone. I was walked through the process of going into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. That might help. I can only guess. For me, I can nominate again.
If you take the photo with a low resolution, the phone will not crash, but the photo will be ugly, i make that and issue fix, need a better phone
if you have android 10 or less you can submit using forgery camera app or gallery camera app. to search the photos from image gallery.
