Are local Boards of Education eligible? They are places for parents to interact with the local education system so they are culturally important and meeting places. I don't think I ever had one come up for review though. Any thoughts on this?
Good question, I would accept them as a government building> others.
There are several indications that appear to me as municipal secretaries, guardianship councils, are governmental things.
NianticCasey did make a comment on public institutions in March 2020, see comment here, basically saying that "they're not really gathering places or unique points of interest".
Even with the new criteria update, that judgement should still be applicable as boards of education, would fall under a public institution, and unless there is something notable about the building (history, architecture, tours, etc.) then it is nothing more than an administrative office.
The purpose as you have outlined in a board of education is for parents to interact with the local education system, this is a meeting place only for business, not for social interactions as a result of a social scenario. As such, it would still be considered as an act of business, rather than something that would meet the criteria or guidelines.
I have no clue what kind of boards you are talking about. But my first thought was eligeble because of educational content. Are they like information signs? Or how do they look like?
BoE offices are just adminsitrative buildings. Sometimes the elected board of education holds monthly meetings there, but my local BoE meets at the vocational school instead or at each individual school through the course of the year. So I wouldn't presume it is a meeting place for public events.
If the building itself is eligible (due to its community importance or architectural merit), it's eligible. But I don't think just being the BoE headquarters would make any building eligible in and of itself.
They are essentially an admin building where you have a bunch of education professionals choose what happens at schools and for budgets. No education is done there
I had it in voting but those saying it isn't really eligible made sense so I withdrew it. Don't want to waste reviewers time on something ineligible. Thanks everyone 👍
ok, this doesnt sound eligeble. Thanks for the clarification.
