What can I do to get this approved or is it really no eligible? Outdoor skate hill.

Good morning,

I've been trying to get my local parks skate hill nominated for a Pokestop, the first time was when I was new to it but this time, six weeks later (and getting better at adding more details to stop, with more being accepted) I added more details about the skate hill and boom it got rejected with MORE ridiculous reasons. Last time it was rejected just on "Nomination appears to be a natural feature (waterfall, mountain, lake, etc.) that is not connected to a man-made object". You can't be telling me nature can produce a tarmac hill with railings and jump boxes can you?

Thank you for nominating Daisy Dip Park: Skate Hill on Jan 9, 2021. Upon review by the Niantic community of players, we regret to inform you that this nomination is ineligible.

This nomination has been rejected due to the following reason(s):

  • Nomination does not meet acceptance criteria
  • Nomination appears to be a natural feature (waterfall, mountain, lake, etc.) that is not connected to a man-made object
  • Photo is low quality (e.g., pitch black/blurry photos or photos taken from a car).

Changes to the results of the community review are not possible. If, however, you believe your nomination should be eligible, please review the Help Center Article “What makes a high-quality PokéStop?”, and feel free to revise the title, description, location, and/or photo when you submit a new nomination. Thank you for your hard work, Trainer!

Maybe I need to swap the photos over so the stunt boxes are in the main picture rather than the empty start at the top?! It is mentioned on the parks website but due to limitations, the URL of the parks page takes up a huge amount of character space in additional information.

As far as I'm aware, it's outside, in a park, an exercise area/sport and a social gathering/meeting place. It meets all criteria's.

I've attached screenshots of the nominate below;

Maybe some reviewers thought that this is only a normal path and not a skate track. For me, it doesn meet criteria. Is therer a sign existing somewhere? This might help on this.

It seems fine to me. Maybe you could find an online news article or a website covering the skate hill. You could put the link in the additional information.

For me it definitely fills the eligibility criteria.

"Maybe I need to swap the photos over so the stunt boxes are in the main picture rather than the empty start at the top?!"

Yes. One problem comes from acceptance criteria.

"Must be a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area"

Your main photo doesn't show any, the support photo would be better choice. (I'd take the photo from downhill angle and when there's more light. Nitpicking I know, but in my experience about similar nominations, first impression is important.)

For safety reasons I find pin placement in the middle of the hill questionable.

Move most of the support text to description. Mention the permanent structures and that it's constructed and maintained by the city (aka it's permanent and official place).

Use the long link to park website in support text. Something like

"Outdoor sports facility with permanent structures, maintained by town X. link For safety reasons pin placed in the end of downhill area."

With better grammary. ;) Good luck with your retry.

It seems perfectly eligible to me. If I were you, I'd swap the main and supporting pictures, though: The main photo should focus on the actual skating elements/infrastructure and the supporting photo should be a broader view.

Thank you for the feedback so far, I will head back down there over the weekend and take some more photos from various angles and get as much of the equipment in as possible :)

Definitely eligible - a great place to exercise. Also a great place to be social in normal times!

Agree just try to make some of the skate features central to the main picture and have them mostly fill that picture. It makes it easier for reviewers who just look at the picture and make a decision straight away to understand it!

    Good luck.

Never seen one of these before! Thats pretty cool :) have skate parks here but not a path! Id say it would be eligible too just focus on one skate park object then take a supporting photo showing it relative to another or proving its permanent.

I'm really stumped at what else I can do to Improve it... Same info as last time, just changed the picture to cover the equipment as suggested and now claimed as upside down, tilted or taken from a car... It looks tilted because its on a hill and the skate hill is sightly banked. 🤷‍♂️

At least the amount of reasons have come down, that's a positive, right? 😂

Did I hear that at some point that you'll be able to have an appeal on a refused pokestop nomination?

Ok, the rejection reasons for this submission are officially *utters expletives in three different languages*.

I don't suppose there is a sign for this skating hill, is there? Even a rules/safety sign might help prove what it is if used as the supporting photo.

There is no sign that I can see, everything else I've nominated in that side of the park has been accepted but this is just proving darn right tricky to get through.

Maybe I just got unlucky with one particular reviewer... Maybe try for the fourth time, again?!

Try again... You definitely have something eligible there.

I gave it a "Yes" when it turned up on my screen the other day.
