And what's it supposed to be? Mind to tell more about your nomination?
It's old farm tools exposed here for many years.
The description (in french) was:
Description
Ensemble de quatres anciens outils agricoles exposés par le village sur le circuit de randonne de Grandrupt.
And i put more informations:
Decouvrir quatre outils historiques utilises par les agriculteurs avant la démocratisation des tracteurs. Facile à trouver et facile d'accès. Aucun risque pour les piétons.
Just because they are old doesn't mean they are eligible. If there was a signboard that accompanied them, that would make a much better nomination and it is more likely to pass.
Unless this was some sort of public display (which needs a notice board or sign), then old farm machinery is not eligible.
It's a public display as it was said in description. It perfectly meet criteria because it's permanent exposition of ancien farm tools. The municipality create this place and took care of theses farm tools in order to let tourist to see them.
The fact that annoying me is these was rejected with the motif "picture taken from a car" and it's obviously not true. So i wonder if i re-subit it what can i improve on the photo...
Because it's generally for low quality photo rejection reason, which specificly 'for nominations where the photo is blurry, pitch black or is taken from a car.'
Your photo doesn't look great either, which reviewers would probably reject it under this reason (although it should not be rejected by this reason).
Ok thanks, so i will re-submit it with a better photo (maybe focus on only one thing instead of trying to get all the 4)
There not really saying you took it from a car. The reason is just all included in the low quality photo rejection reason. I would try again but on a brighter sunnier day :)
Low quality pictures are for where you can't see what the item is, ie it's really far in the distance, pitch black, or so blurry you can't see it, or if you can see the car in the picture.
It is not for where the picture is taken on a grey day, not where it is slightly off centre, not when you don't think it's at the best angle.
This picture is totally acceptable in terms of the quality. You can clearly see that it is farm equipment, which is what is being nominated.
The debate is whether the equipment is eligible, but it sounds like its maintained there for the public to view, so it sounds like it's got some merit. It the submission was well written and clear then it sounds like something that can be eligible as a historical display.
Ive actually gotten old farm equipment to pass. Mine how ever were much larger. So they are passable. Might be a little harder when its smaller and looks moveable, mine were also outside of the agricultural society as well which helps make it a display. Maybe try again?
Just as a note, photos taken on bright sunny days do not make better photos. Actually any photographer will tell you that overcast days can often be the best lighting for photos. Bright sunny days create harsh shadows.
I would focus on one object, with the single object centered in the photo and taking up about 80% of the frame.
I would have accepted this nomination
I would have accepted this
As your first option use any plaque or sign. If none is available then focus on one farm implement. Zoom in as close as you can. Use this for your main photo.
You can always use a photo of a group of equipment as a supporting photo.
FYI back in 2017 it was asked whether farm equipment could be eligible, the advice given was to reject "Antique/Rustic Farm Equipment if on private residential property or a farm. ACCEPT if on display in a public park or museum and is visually unique or historic."
Old farm equipment is everywhere in the country, so as mentioned above, it really should be conveyed why this equipment is significant rather than just some random discarded equipment.
I submit it again today. I will see if it's ok with a better photo. I'm sure theses thing are ok with Niantic's rules.
The second submission is validated.
Thanks for your advices.
Congratulations!
Glad to see!
