A nomination was upgraded without my permission

I recently got an upgrade and shortly after, that upgrade was used on a nomination that i did not choose or select "upgrade next." I have not made a new nomination in a while because the things i want to upgrade next are currently covered in snow and i'm planning on waiting until the snow melts to nominate them. I hope this can be reversed and i get my upgrade back. Hopefully this can be resolved before the wrongfully upgraded nomination is done voting.
Comments
If you dont choose a nomination for the next Upgrade, it will get used randomly on one of your current nominations im quere/voting. You can only store Upgrades when you dont have any unreviewed nominations.
This is working as intended. Yes, its sad but this is how the system works.
That's unfortunate. The nomination that was randomly upgraded is one that I'm only at most 50% sure will work. This rule should be changed.
From the second paragraph under Help -> Upgrades
You can apply an Upgrade to a specific Wayspot nomination from the Nominations page. If no nomination is selected, then the Upgrade will be applied randomly. If an Upgrade is earned and there are no nominations available, it's saved for later use. If you have unused Upgrades and make a new nomination, then the Upgrade will be applied automatically.
That's a stupid rule.
Well, you are working for Niantic for free, did you expect anything else?
Not criticizing you in thr slightest, but this Upgrade mechanic is a clear indication of "Stop submitting things so you can store upgrades". And thats what should be done: Stop submitting things and working for Niantic for free until they deliver a quality product with actual rewards. And no, a badge is not a reward.
