Accepted Upgraded, but ultimately denied due to distance

Hi,
I have a POI I submitted that was accepted and upgraded, but ultimately denied since it was too close to another POI, but which is continuing to sit in my nomination queue and not allowing up to upgrade anything else. Is there someway to clear this and just move on?

Once allocated, you don't get your upgrade back. You will have to wait until you earn another upgrade.
I did get a new one, but everything seems to be stuck. This old one sits there saying "Upgraded", the new one says "Upgrade Next".
But of course, I made the same mistake twice, so the new one will get rejected due to distance, too.
I don't really care about the upgrades, I just want things to start flowing again.
