Upgrade Automatically Applied Out of Order

I received my first upgrade today. Ahead of time I read the FAQ to confirm that you are able to select the nomination you want to upgrade unless you only have one active.
I have three active nominations but my upgrade automatically applied to my newest nomination as opposed to letting me choose. I know have the option to “Upgrade Next” but it is too late.

You cant undo Upgrades. You can always choose what you want to Upgrade next, no mattwr what you are doing.
This happened to me as well today, when I got my upgrade the system picked the upgrade for me. I didn’t have a «upgrade next» chosen before 99% turned 100% and when I logged in, one of my old nominations had already been set for an upgrade. Super annoying!
From the help documentation about upgrades:
You can apply an Upgrade to a specific Wayspot nomination from the Nominations page. If no nomination is selected, then the Upgrade will be applied randomly. If an Upgrade is earned and there are no nominations available, it's saved for later use. If you have unused Upgrades and make a new nomination, then the Upgrade will be applied automatically.
I read this before I had any new nominations so I didn’t make a mistake. It does not specify how to mark a nomination to upgrade one prior to having an upgrade. Can you elaborate on how to take that action?
You mark the nomination you want the next upgrade you earn to be applied to by applying “Upgrade Next” to it.
For example based on the screenshot you posted your next upgrade earned will be applied to the "Peace Lily Keystone" nomination.
In Wayfarer you can visit ‘My Nominations’ and examine one that is ‘In Queue’. Just scroll to the bottom and there are buttons: Withdraw Upgrade Next Edit
Also those who are "in voting"
Same thing happened to me. The first-ever upgrade I earned got randomly applied (not a biiig deal, but it was my third choice out of four...).
On a side note, I was thinking of nominating the Telscer Playground today, but there were so many people that I didn't feel like waiting around. Good to see it's already in good hands!
