Rejected for targeted harassment

Had this trail marker rejected for abuse / targeted harassment lol
Some reviewer actually pressed the abuse button on this.
I had a lot of stupid rejection reasons lately (post office as sensitive / inappropriate location and so on) but this is the best one yet.
Comments
Ah yes, false abuse rejections! Those are the best, because it means the reviewer had to manually type a comment, so there's no way it was a "mistake".
I, too, felt distressed when I first got this as a reason for rejection. After reviewing comments on this community board, I now understand that too many reviewers simply click on a reason, whether it is true or not. Try to take it in stride. I know it’s difficult. Best to you! 😎
I'm not distressed. Ingress lets me resubmit comfortably from home and I will do so until this gets accepted. However I will not review anymore. Too much incompetence too many fakes and too much garbage.
I fail to see how stopping reviewing as best as you can, helps solve the issue though?
Doesn't solve anything. I simply don't like to play spam filter for Niantic when my own nominations get rejected with stupid reasons. Only solution I see right now is for Niantic to do more manual reviewing themselves. Currently the honeypots are not sufficient to filter out bad reviewers (as can be seen from the amount of fakes that get accepted)
The whole system has its weaknesses. This is one big one. Another one is the priorization...
Niantic doesn't seem to be too concerned about this.
On the plus side: People are usually really fast with telling you what is wrong with your nominations. Since so far nobody has I conclude that there is nothing wrong with this. Would be great if we could appeal those rejections. (At a cost of course. Maybe 1000 agreements for Niantic to take a look at a rejected submission. That would make sure that not every rejection gets appealed)
In my opinion Niantic should review every submission marked as abuse and take action against the reviewers if there is no sign of any abuse. I think this reject reason stands out from the others because of the very accusatory way the rejection email is worded when that category is used and Niantic owes it to the submitter of the nomination (and the target in the case of actual abuse) to both investigate the issue AND take proper action against reviewers who misuse it.
True. I also have a couple questions about this.
To start with: What is the threshold on this? How many reviewers have to press abuse for it to appear in the mail and how many have to press abuse for Niantic to take action? I did not receive any warning / strike so it appears to me that it has no effect.
Another important question would be: Does the rejection as abuse count more than other rejection reasons in the overall decision? Because in that case people could use it to farm agreements.
Another idea that came to my mind is that this might have been a "revenge rejection" from someone who's fake POI I have reported. (though that's just speculation)
I've only ever received that warning once and it was for a peak marker more than 5 km from the nearest building and 10 km from any permanent residential house and I can't for the life of me imagine that SEVERAL people used that rejection criteria. I also nominated 6-7 other things on that same daytrip and all of them was accepted.
Obviously, that anecdotal piece of information goes a very short way in answering any of those questions. I wish Niantic was less opaque about all those details but I can also understand why they're not. I guess it's a balance. What I'd love to see would be some kind of statement saying that they're actually following up and acting on abuse reports, both real and fake.
And the next rejection for wrong reasons.
It's a University library and it got rejected for:
- K12
- Private residential property
- Photo quality
(As a bit of context: in germany universities are public buildings which means everyone can enter at any point. You don't have to be a student there. So it's basically a public library)
So K12? Obviously wrong.
Private residential property? Lol no
Blurry photo? Nope
ALL 3 reasons given in the mail are indisputably incorrect.
@NianticCasey-ING Recently there have been a lot of threads about blatantly wrong rejection reasons. Anything gonna happen about it?
