Old does not necessarily mean it’s interesting
Tell that to my grandparents.
if you submit your grandparents I’m sorry but I’m going to have to 1* 😉
I agree - nor does being comparatively modern stop something from being interesting. Personally I'd go out of may way to see a GVI Ludlow box or even one of the few Carron boxes (Type K) from the 1970's but wouldn't for most type B boxes from the 1930s unless they were an unusual variant. I say, "go out of my way" - I wouldn't take a trip to a town to see any post box (not that I've anything against those that would) but if I was in the area I'd walk a few streets. I find old parish boundary markers interesting, and will happily spend a couple of hours trying to find those, but they're not everyone's cup of tea. Most lamp posts don't do anything for me, but I've spent lunchtimes wandering around the city I work in looking for pieces stamped by the defunct, but once important local foundry. A lot of wayfarer POI leave me cold but I appreciate that different people have different interests.
I’ve made a special trip to see an EviiiR before. I do love milestones and boundary markers although we do have some really interesting ones here, I’ve spent hours trying to find a milestone that was half buried under bushes.
Next you'll be hugging EviiiRs, just like our @Senmana-ING
I know where there is a GVI Ludlow Box near this place called Faversham, which I assume you live somewhere near? I don't think there's a private message function here. I'll look for you on Reddit Warfare to give coordinates.
EDIT: The deed is done. Shared a link to the Facebook page of the Post Office in question (contains many photographs of specified ludlow box). I hope that's okay.
