Is it closer than 20 to another existing wayspot?
That doesn't allow to be added to any game.
Yep, what WheelTrekker said is right. If there's any valid place where the pin can be placed for the wayspot that is 20m or more from existing wayspots, your best hope is to resubmit.
That’s ****, there are waypoints in our city centre metres from each other ....
I know there is a limit but it seems to get over ruled A LOT
A lot of older wayspots from the early days of ingress are closer than 20m because it was from before the limit was implemented.
There's also the rare occasion where a wayspot's location is moved because the IRL object or whatever was moved, and this can sometimes lead to wayspots being closer than 20m (or cause the moved wayspot to dissapear).
The Pokémon GO email does not tell if you the accepted POI is too close to something that already exists
Check on Ingress if you can for anything nearby.
Those clusters would be created through abuse. You would be doing a service by reporting them to Niantic.
It is close to wayspot 1 that was recently got accepted together with the one not in-game but im not too sure of the distance on how close they are. (Wayspot 2 accepted, not in-game)
I also seperated (spaced them out) when submitting.
So what should be done for it to appear if it is accepted?
If they are closer than 20 meters too each other there's nothing that will make the second one appear. If you nominated through Ingress this will be stated in the email you receive after it's accepted, if you nominated through PoGo I don't think you're being told this at any point which is unfortunate.
If the two wayspots are legitimately within 20 meters of each other then there's really nothing to do.
As for things that currently exist in the games that are closer than 20 meters together, that is absolutely true. The 20 meter prohibition only showed up within the last couple of years. In the early days of Ingress it was possible to have two portals that were literally right on top of each other, not even a meter apart. That was bad news... you had to just keep tapping and hope you got the right one. There are still some of those in the game.
I dug into this because I saw Nauru go by and I've always been fascinated by that country... some day I want to visit. If I look around I notice that St. Olesha church itself could be submitted with the pin placed more than 20 meters from the bell. There's also something named Ella Park down the road that you could submit if it's actually a park, and the other direction is Parliament House which is absolutely eligible. There are two things just on the other side of the airport, Nauru Independent Church and AOG Beacon Of Hope that are eligible. It looks like there might be a park named Western Bay at the NW end of the runway. Nauru Mission Congregational Church is just across the road from Orro Congregational Church and there's an AOG Tabernacle a little bit farther away. Keep going to Church of God, a Memorial Grave that I can't identify from the map, AOG Hephizibah Church... if I keep going I find churches all the way around the ring road. There's also at least one inland park and church that I can see.
If you can get the local churches and parks submitted you can focus on unique local hangouts, artwork/sculptures, and other cool stuff that isn't going to be obvious to me just from looking at the map.
Not necessarily abuse, we have clusters of legitimately submitted portals that are within 20m of each other because pre-OPR in Ingress that limit didn't initially exist.
@silverkali-ING It's even later than that. My memory is that the 20 meter rule was introduced in 2019, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the date of the change. OPR beta was summer of 2016, so we had all of the pre-OPR time plus years of OPR/Wayfarer before the 20 meter rule showed up.
If you find a pile of pokestops/gyms that are packed closely together that was almost certainly created by cheaters though I think there are a couple that Niantic created for an event. If it's just portals packed like that then it was organic before the 20m rule went into effect.
Thanks, all those mentioned are actual POI that im still trying to make time to submit. I am focusing on artworks/sculptures and local hangouts thinking i will submit the churches and the more obvious ones seen in google maps later
Ive nominated stops that became portals and not stops. The portals are clustered and appear in ingress. The one stop in trying to get nominated is "too close" yet accepted twice in 2 different locations AND edited the move, there's no other stops around and still doesn't appear. I share the pain
