Commemorative plate

Hi! I'm not sure what to do with commemorative plates in honor of someone who die in that place. It's not a tombstone, but it might be sensitive. I would really love some guidance with this, as I usually skip them.

If it engages the visitor in some way, sure.
But if it's plain, it's probably just that someone donated money and put their name on it. For example, parks have fundraisers where you can donate so much to "buy a tree", and so much more to "buy a bench". Donations, by themselves, don't make someone "notable". Billions of people have lived on this earth. For "Historic or Cultural Significance", we need a little more, to make it a Point of Interest.
