Gym downgraded.

in Report a Bug
Recently I moved a Gym to see if a portal nearby would become a pokéstop, it worked. However the gym I moved was turned down into a pokéstop, which is odd, i haven't seen this happen before. Is there any way to turn it back into a gym? It's kinda of a big loss becuase it was a EX Gym. Had I known this was a possible outcome, I wouldn't have moved the gym at all.
For proof that it was a gym .
And the pokéstop it's become.
Comments
Niantic has stated that this kind of movements are an abuse of the system, and due to the huge amount of abuse now whenever the map is edited they reevaluate the gyms and pokestops.
Yeah, gyms being downgraded into stops because of locations edits making them no longer eligible was one of the ways to curb location edit abuse. Sorry, but you reap what you sow.
Moving existing stops or Gyms away from their correct location into a new S17 cell just to try to bring another Pokestop into the game can be considered as abuse. The way the game works now, only 1 Stop or Gym is allowed in each S17 cell, no matter how many Waypoints there are in the cell. If you move and existing Stop, the new rules are applied. You are lucky you still have the stop.
this is a bit problematic when things are re-arranged because they were submitted in the wrong places.
