Niantic releasing a feature that doesn't work!

https://twitter.com/NianticHelp/status/1382094903564439560?s=19
Why would Niantic release a feature that has been broken since October? Not only will new photos directly affect the ever increasing backlog (15+ months natural turn around in Los Angeles), but it will exponentially increase it even more caused by duplicate photos that have been accepted, yet not synced since OCTOBER 2020!!!
@NianticCasey-ING @NianticAtlas
We wayfarers are tired of a broken system and broken promises. We demand action!

Honestly photo submissions should be stopped for everyone until this is resolved, not enabled for more people.
Yeah, it's already frustrating that we have photo reviews adding to the long backlog of things to review, but releasing photo contributions worldwide in Pokemon GO while new photos aren't being added to wayspots is just asking for extra clogging of the system. I really wish there were some people from the Pokemon GO team that could listen to these concerns because it feels like so many problems are out of the Wayfarer team's hands that effect the wayfarer community negatively.
The two highlighted lines of text below are false.
As we've been told repeatedly in here, Wayspots cannot be removed simply for not meeting acceptance criteria.
You also cannot simply add a photo or make any type of contribution to a Stop or Gym if it is simply on the screen - you must be within range to interact with it.
Seriously does anyone at Niantic use their product(s)?

Probably very few. The random contractors that work for the cheapest labor (i.e. probably outsourced to India) don't really improve quality of the features, either.
i doubt that there are many people that are devout PGO Players @ Niantic HQ.
Hi folks,
Firstly, thank you for calling out the outdated information in the Pokémon GO Help Center. I will pass that information along to the team that manages that content for update.
Secondly, I wanted to let you know that I've provided an update on the photo syncing issue here:
I definitely understand why you would be confused and frustrated over the launch of a feature that doesn't appear to work correctly. I hope this context at least helps address some of that.
Thanks for your understanding!
Thank you for the feedback. I will circle back in a few weeks to confirm if it is updated.
@NianticGiffard - please note that the interaction also applies to reporting invalid Wayspots and edits - you've suggested to PoGO Trainers to make edits but you MUST be within interaction range of the Wayspot to be able to contribute to it.
Thanks for keep us up to date Casey! As always, we appreciate it!
If there are still issues with Ingress photos syncing, I hope the team will turn off photo submissions via ingress until this is resolved. If there is truly is a "massive" backlog of photos that need to be worked through to sync, there is no good reason that people should be adding to the pile. Just another reason they should have been turned off in October when this issue started.
I want to add that the photos in PGO are also not synced with the actual database. For more information, check this report :
yes, this bug is still existing.
