An update on newly added Wayspots

Hi folks,
We wanted to provide you with an update on the news of new Wayspots being added that are not in accordance with the Wayfarer eligibility or acceptance criteria.
We are working to update and remove these locations. However, if you notice any such locations, please flag them for our team using this form.
New Wayspots were added as part of an initiative to expand the number of Wayspots in areas with limited playable area and a lack of Wayfarer reviewers. Due to a technical issue, we inadvertently added Wayspots that did not meet our stringent criteria.
Finally, we want to apologize for adding Wayspots not up to our quality standards, even temporarily. We’re not happy either. We will be adding additional quality and workflow checks to try to avoid similar situations in the future.
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi folks,
We wanted to provide you with an update on the current status of this effort to surface and update Wayspots that are not in accordance with the Wayfarer eligibility or acceptance criteria.
Firstly, we want to offer a massive thanks to those of you who have escalated Wayspots to our team.Through your submissions, in combination with proactive review by the Wayfarer team, we have removed ~200 locations and updated ~150 more. This effort is ongoing, so please feel free to flag additional Wayspots through this form.
In addition to these removals, we have performed a backend photo update that has added a generic image to any newly added Wayspot that didn’t have a photo. We won’t be making further changes but you can contribute your own photos in-app to help improve these locations.
Finally, while the feedback from Pokémon GO players in the regions in which these new locations were added has been overwhelmingly positive, we heard the feedback from the Ingress players who are not benefitting from these new locations. The Ingress team is currently working on some improvements to their location server, and once this is done, these new locations will be synced with Ingress and will be eligible to appear in-app. This should be completed later this spring.
Thanks again for your understanding.
