The photosphere clearly shows the aforementioned POI as well as a footpath leading up to it. The POI is located at an intersection of roads. The roads go between a residential neighbourhood and doesn't have much vehicular traffic. The wayspot when it was live, could be accessible from the roadside safely. The photos attached below show the surroundings of the wayspot and the footpath which can be used to access the wayspot safely. There are also convex mirrors placed near the intersection so that people look for vehicles coming by or from the other roads. These factors point to the location of the wayspot being a safely accessible spot.

Description of the POI:

The wayspot candidate is historically and culturally very significant. The POI mentioned in the wayspot's title is a stone that was used in historical times in Kerala to differentiate the border lines between Kochi and Thiruvithamkur kingdoms. These stones have engravings on the opposite faces of them in early Malayalam script, which are "Ko" and "Thi" (are short terms for Kochi and Thiruvithamkur, respectively) and were erected near border roads. In Malayalam language, the name Kothikkallu translates to Ko-Thi stone where Kothi is a compound term which stands for the engraved letters on the stone and kallu means stone. These stones can be found in different parts of the state of Kerala and some of them are protected by the respective local governing bodies.

Here listing some links to articles which prove their importance and legitimacy. Kindly go through these to validate the wayspot's eligibility.

The wayspot was removed after it was reported by some bad elements in the local gaming community.

Here attaching a screenshot showing the the dates when it got accepted first and when it was rejected after its re-nomination following its removal from the games:

The following discussion was posted on April 8th, following the wrongful removal of the aforementioned wayspot from all Niantic games. Niantic denied the restoration appeal without explaining the cause/reason for the removal of the wayspot. https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/15821/wayspot-restoration-appeal#latest

I hope Niantic team would re consider the restoration of the wayspot in question after going through the reasons and proof listed above in support of the claim. @NianticCasey-ING @NianticGiffard
