USPS mail collection boxes in USA

I see mail boxes, in public places, are not eligible in the UK. Are USPS (blue) mail boxes eligible in the US? They are becoming very rare to find one in the US and are somewhat historical now like the Antique Fire Alarm call boxes that are eligible.

No
Actually, there is still debate about the antique fire call boxes. They are mass proudced objects that individually don't have a lot of historical value.
I would say the same for mail dropoff boxes. I put them in the same category as pay phones, Despite waining in prevalence, there really isn't much interesting about them, so I don't think they meet criteria. Occasionally you find one that may be unique and doesn't share the same design as the typical post box, those may be eligible. I already see so many banks of mailboxes for private developments and apartments, I would hate to move to legitmize mass produced mail drop off boxes as wayspot candidates.
No, mail boxes aren't eligible in almost any country. The only exeptions seems to be some really old mail boxes from UK, but it's still part of really big discussion that I don't want to take part in as I'm not from UK, so let's not mention UK examples here, let's back to USA ;)
Mail boxes are mass produced and common thing, and they don't really meet any eligibility criteria, even if they're become rarer in USA. As JSteve0-ING mentioned, only some artistic mail boxes might be eligible, all others are just generic thing and aren't eligible.
I don't know about your area, but USPS mailboxes are hardly something I would say are "rare" or "historical." Sure they're not on every street corner, but if you're in a city of any size, there is likely one to be found within several blocks, and certainly they are still being produced and installed in new locations.
Thanks everyone. There are so few in my neighborhood/area, that I have to take mail to the actual post office buildings, but I understand there is nothing unique about them. Thanks again!
Who said fire alarm call boxes were eligible?
I wouldn't have assumed these would be eligible. They don't look like anything interesting. If one had a unique story attached to it, then it might stand a chance, but as it is, they're just collection boxes, so are ineligible under NIA's criteria.
