Can home location be reset to blank after event?

I want to participate in the event, however I do not want a home location. I don't have a "home town" location in reality, being a military brat I have never lived in one state for more than a few years my whole life. I don't want my account to be forever stuck to a single location (maybe in a few more years if I stay in one state after college). Can I get some clarification as to what will happen after the end of the challenge? Will I have to pick a new location or can it be cleared out to nothing?

There has been no explanation if location will be reset vs ability to change will be reset.
