Add a field for reviewers that says something like "This is a deliberate garbage submission" for people who submit "My living room" and the like. If your candidate gets enough of those you lose submission rights for three months.
I saw your comment said that I multi account & it was edited. I am married. My wife has an account. That’s it. I am the farthest thing possible from a cheater. Please don’t assume or do that ever again. Thanks. Disagreed with his comment because people should be involved. If people don’t get involved what do we have. The “Easy” answer is nothing. There’s no reason to get your panties in a bunch because people get involved. We need people to be involved. We are all in this together. This isn’t only about me, you, or one person. This is about everyone & im just sick of seeing people whine to be completely honest
our Job isn’t to assume or cry because someone disagrees with a post. We need to get over it & move on. His post sounded to me as if he was saying that the people here were only using the community part of wayfarer just to collect rewards when in reality these people are actually probably using wayfarer to review but just don’t like to chat on the community part. Who are we to assume?
I agree with having a per capita # of submissions especially if there was a set total that when we hit it worldwide we have to review & can’t submit until the backlog of submissions goes down. Something needs to be done to fix the broken system, I agree. I know in certain parts of the world that wayfarer is just broken & somehow nominations are just going into a bank & staying there. Those should just be added to another region for now to fix the issue. They just need to get reviewed to get accepted so why can’t Niantic just make those submissions that have been in voting forever reviewable from other regions or even all regions until the backlog is cleared. It seems to me as if something seems unfixable to them without destroying it entirely. Otherwise this would have been fixed already. I have no issues where I live with submitting anything it setting in queue a week & going into voting without an upgrade & being accepted within a month. It needs to be this way worldwide. I have noticed if mine are upgraded that they get accepted even faster. Sometimes within days. I wouldn’t mind reviewing these submissions to clear the backlog instead of mine going into voting just to make things right & im sure others would understand as well. If Niantic needed to fix something major after that like having to delete the system afterwards they then could & pause submitting in the regions that are having nominations set in queue. It has to be an issue like this, that is keeping them from being seen & not necessarily lack of reviewers. I notice in most places where nominations aren’t getting accepted there are plenty of reviewers. Just that these nominations aren’t capable of even being reviewed. It’s an issue with the system somewhere. Something is broken & needs fixed. If Niantic could let us know how to help, we could. They need to let us know what we can do to fix the issue
I dont agree with that 1 submission every 2 weeks thing and needing to review to get more. I dont enjoy or even have the time to review, its not a very good system they have (not even including the bugs) but i enjoy submitting stuff. To be clear, I do review, do a handful each week, and I don't use up my submissions as soon as they appear, but sometimes I'll go to an area that has loads of potential waypoints and I blast through about 10 submissions, I shouldn't need to review so I can help out this empty area imo
If you are going down the route of punishing people for asking for stops, remember that
1. Some people have only just started submitting so think saying the place needs them is their first thought (I had to teach someone to never say that as people will just reject even if the submission is completely valid)
2. There is no where in the guidelines or the submission process that says asking for pokestops is bad.
Both of these can be solved easily by changing the wording during submission process to make it clear its not pokestops that are being submitted, and that when you first go to submit, you HAVE to go through the guidelines with maybe even some examples of a waypoint going through a submission process (and maybe have a test similar but not as difficult as the wayfarer test)
@gazzas89-PGO IMO, we need to find a way to make Wayfarer balanced in terms of submissions / reviews. We're already in the situation where submission capacity far exceeds review capacity. Without a cap on submissions that's tied to reviews how do we avoid winding up with queue delays of years?
Also, something like the Ingress tutorial but for submissions would be a good thing.
Wayfarer needs a stand-alone app that is self-supporting and self explanatory, it should play like a game, and offer rewards or be a rewarding experience so that people want to participate.
All of the things that Wayfarer+ and external sites and tools provide should be built in. Players wouldn’t need to add an Ingress account after starting with GO or WU or whatever. They’d be able to see the ‘hidden’ way-spots and be informed of proximity problems, and would undergo an experience of continuous process improvement so their nominations would improve over time, and they would become better reviewers simultaneously.
It is a bit difficult for me to understand why this was not grasped and implemented at the very outset. I feel this same lack of overview/integration in the individual games.
Oh no, I never said people here are only here for rewards, but it was well spelt out that MANY people only participated MINIMALLY for the rewards, mains alts etc. In fact community posts were made out in such a way to highlight that the rewards were already achieved and to just do the minimal for the rewards.
I know that @Roli112-PGO. I like you as a person. Nothing against you personally at all. We just have to help each other. I wish they would do something about this & allow us to help clear the backlog in these areas. I am sorry about what was said above. It could easily be misinterpreted. I know exactly what you mean. You are one hundred percent right. Niantic should give more rewards for reviewing. That way people want to do it
For the Russia Event, i personally don't care, i think long term those upgrades help balance turnaround time (at the cost of fast turn around areas), so again no whining from me, just stating the obvious.
No, you’re right. I thought about it. Makes sense now. I think I read it wrong but I mean what I said towards some others, just not you @Roli112-PGO. If Niantic would give rewards for actually reviewing & not just signing up the backlog may disappear
@Roli112-PGO I agree with you about minimal participation in the Russia event. I think that the bar for getting the reward was far too low. Ten upgrades for doing a trivial number of reviews didn't do anything to help the system overall-- it just privileged people who learned about the event and jumped in to grab the prize.
If Niantic would only give rewards for participating then more people would get involved. They could even set them for certain points in reviews like at 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 & so on etc. if rewards were given for participation more people would be involved. If rating mattered toward it that would help with abuse
Personally, I think the need to make the review process a bit more streamlined and less buggy/punishy (last time i reviewed, I got the 4 hour cool down after 1 review, and it wasn't even a review, it was saying that there was no bad photos lol). I also think that there need s to be some better reward in place, nothing major, but like, maybe 100nstardust or 50 xp in pogo, then 10 ap in ingress, for every agreement (and then whatever harry potter gives), It doesn't need tk be something big, but when doing what is essentially a job, some sort of tangible reward needs to be In place, like i see getting a waypoint through and appearing in game is a tangible reward for submitting, upgrades are not worth it to a lot of people so aren't as rewarding (especially as that "reward" might end up being wasted on a bad set of reviewers or accidently go onto a submission thst was a hard sell)
First point I agree that some areas out there are still unsubmitted, although it is much rarer to find these areas now and generally it’s tiny villages well off the beaten track.
the way to get around it would be to be able to submit as many as you like (up to a certain point) but they would be spread out going into wayfarer.
So for example if I visited a new town and did 40 submissions then the system could spread those out entering wayfarer over 2 months so people still get the chance to get their submissions in (especially if they visiting an area and wouldn’t have enough subs normally) and it doesn’t spam the wayfarer system all at once
second point - I see lots of submissions asking for pokestops in the supporting without any interesting information about the submission, maybe Niantic need to look closer at what information they give out to submitters to show them how to submit properly (not proud of some of my early submissions either).
as I see it the biggest difference between Ingress only subs and now is that before if someone was submitting badly we could find them, contact them and teach them. There is almost no way to track down PoGo submitters to teach them how to improve their submissions so a lot of submitters just aren’t getting any better and have doing the same rubbish for nearly 2 years now
You are very very welcome my friend. I will do anything I can to show my support for you & all that you have done for your community & for everything you do for others as well because I know
By the way, my sincerest apologies. I should’ve been more gender neutral anyways. It’s like with NianticCasey. I know that’s a woman but the majority of us call her he as well lol I just hope that you aren’t offended. I am sorry
sorry my comments covered up your post. I wanted to quote you so your comments are seen over mine. I also really like what you had to say & can agree. It would probably take two days for me to submit that many. I currently travel with a group of friends that I have met while playing to submit & it normally takes all day between the four of us to drive around to different small towns just to do what you mentioned by submitting in small towns off the beaten path. We’ve been traveling farther & farther & farther. Before long we will be into another state. Every now & then new useful things are added that can be submitted locally but anymore we find ourselves traveling into other counties that are far away from home

I wish so stuff like this gets flagged
Probably only people who used multiple accounts or say they don't disagree would disagree with your comment.

Whoops so weird that tag got in there. I guess you didn't disagree with that post, then?

I didnt ssy people should not be involved, vut the reality is a lot wont and will just come in when its convenient.
I also wasnt whining, i was countering a "proposal", or whatever you wabt to call it, with reality. Nothing whiny.

They gave it to everyone. I thought that they would go by if you actually reviewed a certain amount of submissions or not but that wasn’t the case

@gazzas89-PGO she created a post specifically about this too here https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/19227/how-would-you-make-wayfarer-review-netural#latest
Just saw and posted my thoughts there
I just gave your comment a like there as well
@TheZodiac007-PGO Thanks for sharing the link! I meant to do that here too but got caught up in work.
