Three Wayspots were approved, but not all of them became Pokestops.
I submitted several applications for PokéStops in the last month, and three of them were approved. However, since they were not implemented as PokéStops even after a week, I contacted the operator of PokemonGo and was told that when a PokéStop application is approved, the information is only stored in Niantic's database, not implemented. If that's the case, shouldn't the name of the application be changed to "Application for a Potential PokéStop Site" instead of "Application for a PokéStop"? Applying for a PokéStop is an important job that takes a lot of time, including taking pictures and thinking about the description. It's a shame that it ends up not being implemented as a candidate site. I quit applying for PokéStops when three of them were not implemented this time.
What do you think?

The acceptance email says that it might not show up in game because of distancing issues, so not sure what you're getting at here?
I haven't received any approval e-mails, so I don't know about that.
You’re not submitting a PokéStop. You’re submitting a nomination for a Waypoint/Point of Interest (POI)
If it is accepted as an eligible nomination you’ll get an email. It can take literal years to get an acceptance/reject email.
If you haven’t had the email, they haven’t reached a decision yet.
If they are eligible, they may not appear on Pokémon GO, or even Ingress, due to proximity of existing POI.
You can log in to Niantic Wayfarer -
and check the status of your nomination.
Check your spam box, you should've received a confirmation via email from NIA saying they were approved.
Yes, Niantic should change the wording and explain the whole process correctly. At the moment you have to rely on third party sites to get all the info about how it works.
How do you know they were approved if you didn't get emails to tell you they were approved?
Are you meaning instead that you got confirmation emails to tell you that the nominations were received?
Wayfarer shows nomination status, including "approved"
I've had this happen. It was one of the reasons I started reviewing -- for more visibility into my nominations, as well as knowing what should actually be submitted. Anyway, in my cases, there was already a stop in the S2 cell but more than 20m away, so the new stop ended up in Ingress but not in Pogo. I actually started playing Ingress to see these other stops, and realized that in PoGo you only see part of the map -- there are tons of portals in Ingress that aren't in Pogo. There's a lot of work involved in seeing if a new nomination is actually in a cell without a stop, 20m away from other portals (which you may only see in ingress), etc.
There are two rules that Niantic doesn’t openly discuss. The first one is the 20 m rule: If your submission is less than 20 meters closer to another wayspot, it won’t become a wayspot even if it gets accepted. The second one is the 17L rule: the world is divided to cells. In every 17 level cell there can only be one pokestop. If your submission is in an occupied cell, it will only become a portal at ingress and won’t show up at POGO.
