Why was this rejected??

Below is Google Street view.
You can clearly see it's not fake, yet the reviewers said it was?? I don't understand?? I thought this was a solid nomination... Should I try again??
Thanks!!

Every (or most) of the street signs around that zone have that rose?
There's only about 5 or 6 streets in total that have the Briar Rose on the sign.
I didn't review the nomination, so can't say for sure why it was rejected. But a few things stand out to me looking at what you posted:
None of this is to say that the information you included in your nomination was fake, but it makes it hard for an outsider to verify.
It might have helped if you'd included the URL of a website describing the use of the symbol in your supplemental information. If there isn't anything online and it's only described at a museum/info centre, perhaps a photo of the description there would have helped.
I've just double checked on Google Street view, there are only 4 streets with a Briar Rose on the sign and all 4 roses look different.
I appreciate it "could be a sticker" but I'm pretty sure Google Street view pre dates Pokémon Go, I don't have a time machine!!
Here are the other 3 roses...
Should I try again or not bother??
Thanks for your replies, I appreciate the feedback.
Usually street signs dont make any criteria, if they are artistic enough I can see them possibly passing but for me i’d probably vote this as does not meet criteria :$
It isn't the street sign itself I nominated, it's the Briar Rose mural which has historic significance. The fact that it's on a street sign should be non consequential...
To be clear, I wasn't saying "a sticker that you put on the sign just prior to making the nomination" -- I fully believe your explanation of why the rose appears on the sign. The problem is that I couldn't easily verify that explanation.
The word spacing on the "Loweswater Drive" sign with the rose looks the same as the other signs for the road without the rose, so it looks like something that was added afterwards. I just can't tell if it was added in an official capacity or if it is essentially just some graffiti.
And as I said, I had a quick browse around in Street View looking for other roses and didn't find them. I didn't doubt that they existed, but had no idea where to look.
In general, reviewers want to help you get your wayspot approved: it's your job to give them reasons to feel comfortable doing so. Just remember that the reviewer could be from anywhere in the world, so you can't rely on them knowing things that are "common knowledge to locals".
And just a minor quibble, but should be addressed, it's not a mural. I'm not even sure how to classify it, signet maybe? But clearly not a mural. Sell things as what they are rather than trying to append some known class of acceptable object to something that clearly isn't that.
Thanks everyone, I'll take all this onboard!!
That looks like a poppy rather than a rose. https://www.paliroots.com/products/poppy-sticker
Can't see these being accepted - just stickers on street signs probably put up around Remembrance Day - in the one you've submitted you can even see where someone has pealed it back to remove it.
Did you do an image search for Briar Rose? I think OP may be correct.

Hope this clears up any doubts...
That is the kind of information that would have helped support your nomination (in particular, this page). But it still doesn't say anything about the practice of marking street signs.
If you want to create a more solid nomination, I wonder if it might be better not to focus on the street signs? If the rose is there to indicate that there is an interesting building designed by Edgar Wood, could you nominate the building itself? You'd still need to make sure it isn't a private residence, but this is the thing that you'd want to draw people to rather than a road sign.
The information on that Edgar Wood Society website probably has a whole lot of information to help describe what is special about the buildings. Just make sure that the descriptions you come up with are your own words rather than simply copying and pasting someone else's work.
The only thing differentiatiing your sub from all the other "We need a Pokestop here" ineligible roadsign submissions is the sticker. You can see that's peeling off. Temporary sticker / ineligble nomination, would get a 1* from me straight away. Find a plaque or information sign about this architecht - no problem, but a sticker - no.
To me this just looks like a street sign. I would maybe change the title so it's 'Briar Rose Motify - Street Name' and explain in more depth why this is culturally significant. Supporting links would also help.
It's not a sticker, and these Street signs have been here since 2007...
What difference does it make if the motif is on a street sign?? Would it be a more tangible nomination if the motifs were on a wall??
If it's any kind of sticker, then it's "temporary".
Again, these are not stickers and they've been here for the best part of 15 years!!
If they was stickers, don't you think they'd be weathered and showing discoloration after 15 years??
Just use this info & try again. I don’t think there’s any info we can give you because we aren’t locals & it looks temporary to us from the distance shown from Google Street View (not necessarily your fault). Maybe try making a photosphere real close to the sign so it is presented to the reviewer so they can get a closer look at it. Best of luck
"Been there for 15 years!!!" but a 2012 street view doesn't show them.
Same with this one even more recent 2014
I’d say this is a no go now. Good job checking that @Roli112-PGO
It's a child-quality drawing, on a non-unique sticker, on an invalid object (street sign) - without obvious pedestrian access. That artist never heard of this sticker or street sign. People would not travel from afar to see it. It's not in any travelogue. People don't stop there to explore it, or socialize or exercise.
Please look for something else to nominate. Something valid and interesting, that deserves your great passion.
My advice above was incorrect. I would not resubmit this at all. I apologize as well, I specifically came here to give good advice. My advice above was not good. It was completely opposite. Very bad. There is no sign detailing why the flower is credible or why it needs to be there. I need to speak the truth. This is unacceptable without a sign or something somewhere explaining its importance for the reviewer to see. I apologize for my ignorance above. Do not submit this without credible proof
Wow, I'm lost for words...
I was certain they'd always been there... I honestly don't remember a time when they wasn't there...
I live in a place called Silver Birch, literally just around the corner and just a short 10 minute walk away from Bowlee Park -where I play the game. I see these Motifs or whatever they are every day and have done since the game released.
I've emailed Rochdale Council to try and figure out where they came from.
