Where is the best country for the next wayfarer challenge?

Since the above is a discussion of the entire roadmap, let's get excited about the next event area here.

I would appreciate it if you could write down your reasons for recommending the region.

Scotland..... no other reason than I want my submissions reviewed lol. Though i could make an argument for the uk, as there are a few places in the uke that aren't moving at all, like London from what I've seen on here, and I know Livingston in Scotland is a very very slow too (I've got submissions that have been in for a year, but another agent has told me she's had stuff in for nearly 2, maybe even ore wayfarer days)

To add to it, apart from the post boxes which I expect might be rejected by non local reviewers, there are some really good submissions for the uk of walking paths, ruins, parks, bars, cairns, triangulation stones, art, sculptures etc. It would be interesting for non local reviewers to see

A country that is not known for trash nominations. India and Poland were bad examples, Russia was a great example of how a Wayfarer challenge can be fun. Also, it should be a country in need of new Wayspots/with many low-density areas. Of course, Africa would come in handy but I still doubt that there are enough submitters for a challenge.

It would be lovely if we could see what areas have the highest queued submissions to active reviewers ratio. I'd love to review African submissions, primarily in the areas I visited, but I fear that the cellular coverage there would lead to a nearly empty queue.

I found this list in a Wayfarer Criteria Excel Spreadsheet, which refers to this post in Reddit. It lists the portals/wayspots per capita but as most others above have pointed out, it doesn't really show many queued submissions there are, let alone active submitters/nominators: https://www.reddit.com/r/NianticWayfarer/comments/mqwpc6/help_choosing_a_bonus_location_countries_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

But I guess only Niantic could provide/observe such data.

Easy answer: a country with a bad Poi:Player ratio.

No use spending resources to approve 500 POIs in an area where 3 people play. This is data that is EASILY detectable by Niantic, but Mario Kart office tournaments are clearly more important 🤡

Yes. It's bad poi to player ratio.

If I remember correctly, it's most likely Brazil, Mexico or Turkey. The real question is: if players are able to earn upgrades based on reviewing and choose not to. It may not have enough reviewers or nominations to earn upgrades easily.

    the whole Africa

If you can change locations freely and don't get 4 days cooldown (when there are no nominations around) during the event, it'll be fun

I would say an area in Africa, like West/South/East. North Africa already have quite a number of poi.

The reason for this is that it seems to be players enough, but few are of high level enough to submit. Which of course means that is it harder to level up. I sincerely hope that Nia would give Africa a break from this moment 22.

The queues in single countries might not be that long, but if we could get greater areas for our bonus locations, maybe spanning several countries, it would probably work out.

Do not forget that the system is designed not only for PoGo, but also for Ingress, Harry Potter and future Niantic games like Katan

Unpopular option but here goes. Did Ingress even playable in Saudi Arabia?

EDIT: well, what happened with the post? Did any staff delete it instead?

    South Korea

The wayfarer campaign event was canceled early last year due to COVID-19.

I expected it because I thought it was a good event, but I was sad that it was canceled.

I don't think it's going to be possible to hold the same event again, but I think we should replace it with wayfarer challenge.

I understand that there are few Wayspots and there are some areas that are in trouble.

However, what I would like to review purely is an ancient city such as Kyoto in Japan.

When I was looking for a city to put my home location in the Russia Wayfarer Challenge, I was surprised that many Russian cities were built in relatively modern times.

I would like to review Greece, Egypt and Ethiopia.

I agree with Ratio of POI and Players from all the game.

But on the contrary if the is more POI pop up from the challenge, it is going to gain more players in that area.

I would love to review POI from countries which rich history, it has tendency to have interest submissions.

I'd like to review in Tanzania - so many wonderful points of interest, so few wayspots!

i doubt it will be any country in Asia.

Niantic is likely to do another round in Europe, before heading to Africa.

If Saudi Arabia doesn't cut it, how about the entire Middle East?

Below is the list of countries where Pokemon GO is playable and also, countries where Pokemon GO is banned instead (source https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Go)

    * I'd assume Ingress are slightly more wider than this one, since Mainland Chinese are able to play Ingress despite Pokemon GO being banned in that country.

Even with a few of eligible countries, while there are some notable countries with enough players like Israel in Middle East, there are also other countries in that area with insufficient number of players able to nominate and review, making those countries another dry voting zones.

Kuwait is one of the example:

It looks like we are tied to three countries, Brazil, Turkey and South Africa.

Please vote for your favorite among them.

  • JP81SayGo-PGOJP81SayGo-PGO Posts: 180 ✭✭✭

I would like to vote for Turkey as it is the most recently released location.

From the trouble we had with the Russian rewards, could we make it easier to visualize and understand when you complete the reward conditions, like the quests in Pokémon GO?

I thought that if we could make it visible, there would be less trouble.
