New to nominations - possible mistake
Just asking to make sure I did it right.
So I nominated my first waypoint in-app and then found this whole process of peer-reviewing. When I was exploring the Wayfarer interface, I noticed my nomination was listed, and without really understanding I clicked the 'Upgrade next' thinking that would somehow bump it up in my queue.
Then seeing my profile and noticing I have yet to earn any upgrades, I started working on verifying.
Would having that upgrade text on a brand new waypoint slow down the approval process at all? It still shows in the queue, and it hasn't quite been a week. I'm just wondering if I should withdraw and resubmit without the upgrade.
Thanks for any advice/clarification.

OK, so I think I kind of answered part of my own question by reading a bit more.
I realize now that the "next" part means it will apply to the next upgrade I earn.
What I am still unclear about is, if it will interfere with the place in the queue?
Don't worry about the nomination's place in queue. If you have an upgrade, you have helped tremendously by evaluating other nominations, so you have earned that upgrade so that your nomination can be fast-tracked.
The Wayfarer system places different priorities on nominations and appears to have some randomness involved too. So nobody can really comment on the queue. All we can say is, doing more reviews will help others and will help earn you upgrades so that your efforts in submitting and reviewing are rewarded.
Welcome! Much about Wayfarer is unclear because Niantic doesn't like giving out information that might be exploited by players, and if they give out exploitable information it will be exploited.
Your situation is hard to reverse engineer but it seems rather unlikely that setting something to Upgrade Next will lower its place in the queue. You certainly didn't make a mistake.
Thank you both!
