Submitting photographs for new Waypoints (VIA P-GO) crashes app

Issue - Over a 3 day period, attempts to submit a new PokeStop have failed upon clicking the checkmark at the photograph submission step. The app will close itself and, upon tapping to open the app, will completely restart from the loading screen.
Device - Motorola One Zoom running Android 10, updated to security patch July 1, 2021. The camera app used for this process was the phone's native app. Attempts have been made to use different cameras in the phone as well as different aspect ratios and megapixel counts. Phone is running the latest version of Pokemon Go as per the date of typing this.
Note* App was recently uninstalled and reinstalled prior to achieving level 28.

Further digging resulted in this earlier report of a similar nature.
Niantic should either expand the resolution cap on their acceptable photos / create it's own app for taking photos that meet its requirements / allow players to submit a photo from gallery that meets their size requirements.
