Giffard's last post has been made on the 30th of July. This is one week without any interaction with the community. While three days without posts have happened in the past, it is very likely that his work contract has been terminated to the end of the month. Similar to Liz George, PokemonGO Community Manager, who has also resigned from Niantic a while ago because of multiple problems with the app (unchecked banwaves, change of "post-covid" playstyle, etc.). I wonder if he just got bored with the forum community or just didn't want to work anymore for the company which handled the Russian Wayfarer Challenge with lies to the end.

I mean, I didn't answer any work-related emails in the last week of May, either, because I was on a canoeing trip. I didn't leave my job, though.
That liz person said she resigned for a different job opportunity, not because of the distance being reverted or the ban waves
They also had to quit social media at one time due to harassment and personal threats from toxic players over the distance reversion. Interesting timing to leave the company. Of course they had to publicly save face and not speak negatively, that's the professional thing to do.
Giffard is probably just taking some time off. Casey has still be logging in, as they were last active on 2nd it seems but not posted for a while. Anson said the team is growing so we may see some more Niantic faces popping up in a few weeks as well.

I think you’re lucky to have any time off in the US from what I hear. Like maybe 2 weeks of the year? There is the week that Niantic gives almost all of their employees off as well though.
Honestly, I would not speculate about this. He might come back soon. I mean Casey last message was way longer in the past. If Giffard leaves, who would be the Wayfarer community administrator?

While Giffard are away, there are some Niantic mods that are still responding to this forum, @NianticAtlas and @NianticAaron .
To both Atlas and Aaron, is there any other staff who can at least respond to the appeals and reports in the Appeal section right now?
Or the bugs section at least, ad there seems to be a very bad bug happening where accepted wayspotd aren't showing up in ingress (but are in other games)
I hope Giffard didn’t leave but I have definitely noticed the lack of Niantic presence on this forum lately. The bug report page is cluttered with too many threads for the same bug and need to be condensed.
The appeals are kind of abandoned as well. If he is on vacations I hope he is resting a lot before he comes back and look at all that...
At least @NianticGiffard will know we’ve missed them when they get back from holiday.

the big majority of the pogo community doesnt know who she is until some saw a post in reddit about it, however the ammount of people in reddit and even in twitter is pretty small since she did that announcement in her private twitter...so we can be sure literally the pogo community have no idea they had a community manager at some point, that speaks a lot of her job done as well niantic's ability to give information or communicate properly
