How will this effect things for us as reviewers? Will Contributions submitted through Pokemon GO also be effected by this? Will this effect wayspots appearing in niantic games once approved while these updates are going on?

Is this what is causing edits to not sync to Pokémon Go at the moment, despite them displaying correctly in Ingress and Wizards Unite?
It explains some of the bugs we have seen lately, I guess...
And if we will have stuff accepted in Wayfarer but not in Ingress, I hope we get access to a Intel like map for all Wayfarer POIs...
This must explain the instance ps of agreed poi coming through in PoGo and not appearing in Ingress.
I’m a bit concerned that if I continue to review but because of the delays agreements are not being reached that the ratings will dip.
No, that will be something different.
Ingress still runs on a different codebase to Pogo and HPWU which share the same codebase so a backend Ingress specific change shouldn't have any effect on the way the portal data is used for the others.
Think of game having an iOS and Android version. They are altering one platform version so that they now both act the same way, but what ever change they make on that platform wouldn't have any effect on how the other works.
Oh, and we finally got the wayfarer update
So, is this the same thing? Weird this post specifically only refers to PokéStop nominations (rather than Wayfarer and/or Portal nominations).
I wonder if its the roll out of the pre-submission test? That would be nice.
Either way its a chance for us to all REVIEW and maybe catch up/clear out some of the voting queues since there wont be any more PoGo nominations for about a week.

Probably mentioning PoGO and not Ingress here since Ingress already got their equivalent update on the ingress forum.
I am guessing that they don't want Ingress and Pogo to get very out of sync during the Ingress backend update.
So they timed the update to coincide with a pause in Pogo nominations to allow for updates to Wayfarer to occur.
Looks like the announcement in the Ingress Forum was edited. Now, portal nominations will not be available for several weeks as well. I didn't read about this in particular when I first saw the announcement.
Well, I made a nomination that was approved and only appeared in Ingress and HarryPotter, not in PoGo.
Well, to be honest, that's quite common and has been an intended way the system works for years.
The PoGo announcement has a lot of specifics that the Ingress announcement doesn't have.
The Ingress announcement is mostly about emails I don't think I've gotten (I haven't nominated in a couple months), but they seem to think everyone has gotten them, so I guess we all need to spend time researching our emails, and figuring out what "eligible" vs "accepted" means. Does the problem go back to 2017? I'm really too busy to run around in these circles.
It doesn't say WHAT will be "delayed" for Ingress - nominating or reviewing?
So much for hiring someone for Ingress community / communications. I'm going to give the hiree the benefit of the doubt, and assume they were not consulted for this vague communication.
