It varies by area. That would be on the shorter end of the timeframe in my experience. I moved in the last year and in my old hometown, it took forever. I still have things there in the queue that I submitted pre-pandemic and they haven't reached voting yet, so well over a year. The couple nominations that have gotten approved were in the 9+ month timeframe (unless I upgraded them). In the new town, it generally takes a month or two. Nominations in less-dense areas will generally go into voting more quickly than in areas that already have a lot of stops.
There was also a Wayfarer update recently, during which pokestop nominations were suspended. I noticed that during this time my reviews that were in voting were sitting there in voting for a longer than usual time. I've had 4 or 5 decided on in the last week, so hopefully things are moving again.
honestly it depins on area and how many people are reviewing in that area for how long it takes to be aproved or denyed. ive seen some go as long as a year and no response

What do you define as “a long time”? Some people wait months or years for their Waypoints to be approved.
I have one that’s been In Voting for about two months now. That’s not that long for me.
One in May and one in July. Sorry they were my first submissions and I really didn’t think it would take that long. 😭
Since you are new here you may not know about reviewing and Upgrades.
You can check the status of your nominations, review the nominations of others, and earn Upgrades that can help yours to be decided sooner.
Depends on your area. If you want to them to go through quicker, do some reviews and they will be Upgraded and shown to a wider pool of reviewers.
How do I check the status of my submission?
Log into Wayfarer - https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/# using the same details you use for Pokémon GO/Ingress and then you’ll see it under Nominations.
