Fake Wayspot locations in Point Cook, Victoria.

Scattered throughout Point Cook, Victoria, Australia, are a collection of murals painted on utility boxes.
Many of them appear for review and an extraordinary number of them are not in the place claimed. It makes no sense other than the player is cheating.
For example...
These are the same artworks, nominated and accepted in different locations. And both locations are fake.

Now we look at the other one, "Kingsford Box Art", supposedly near Kingsford Drive and Barnstormer Boulevard.
Approx here... https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/29+Barnstormer+Blvd,+Point+Cook+VIC+3030/@-37.8976762,144.7193338,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x6ad68620062bbf63:0xbb8aeb9c87ec2cd9!8m2!3d-37.8976762!4d144.719881
Yes, there is another utility box there, again unpainted in Street View 2014-04.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8978394,144.7198181,3a,65.3y,193.63h,77t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sej_xk7f6p32sG4l9Hp8jEA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Similar design utility box, but the warning labels are on a different door. Oh, and that lake seems to have dried up...
Again, the only explanation is cheating.
Look at the official registration placards on the utility boxes, they are identical; same title, same serial number.
What about the title? Well, "Longreach - Hargrave" means that this utility box is near roads with those names. Are there roads with those names in Point Cook, Victoria? Yes, yes there are. Longreach Parade and Hargrave Avenue, and oh look, they intersect near a park...
And does that location have a utility box? Yes, it does, although it is not painted with murals in current Street View, 2014-04.
1 Longreach Parade.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.901092,144.7177546,3a,42.6y,136h,78.52t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sfo4gcYsl_mVBrE7VMs1aqg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Is it the same utility box as the painted one?
Well, Street View obscures the placard, and the painted one has extra locks on it, but the overall features of the boxes are the same. The park has also grown in the past 7 years, so that's not much help. But there is a house roof that can be seen in the background of one of the main photos, and that exact same roof profile can be seen in the rear of Street View.
Next, let's look at "Nossal Box Art" which is claimed to be on Nossal Drive, Point Cook.
What can we see at that address?
There is a utility box there, and Street View is too old to show the recent mural (which is not there anyway).
The design of the utility box is the same as the Wayspot, again lacking additional locks. But that fence is absolutely nowhere to be seen in the back of this image, and all those houses have been replaced by open space and lawn? Give me a break...
Someone has cheated.
And here it is again... "Sunnybank Box Art"
Seriously, this player is making a joke out of the review system.
This is where "Sunnybank Box Art" is meant to be...
And again the houses in the background of the Wayspot photo do not exist.
This has to be removed.
This one might also be doubtful. "Milpond Box Art".
Look at the construction of the box in the Wayspot vs the the one at 15 Milpond Drive...
One has a flat roof and the other has a pitched roof.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.9042223,144.725424,3a,75y,347.03h,79.36t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swPZ7KhD3D3G0niddvNFZxQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
I'm not completely certain that this one is faked, but it might be.
There is also the utility box that was approved at Longreach Parade and Hargrave Avenue, "bird art Longreach Park"...
But it no longer appears in Ingress Intel Map, so hopefully this fake Wayspot has been removed. Oh, I see that Kingsford and Nossal are gone now too. Thank you Wayfarer community for stopping this nonsense.
I mean, this artwork and all the other painted utility boxes are beautiful and they need to be Wayspots. But only once, and only in the right location.
Here's another fake location. "Beautiful Bird Box Art Work".
The placard says "Jamieson Sewerage". It is not located on "Tom Roberts Parade, Point Cook" as claimed.
It is most likely this one at approx 66 Jamieson Way, Point Cook...
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.895426,144.7470754,3a,75y,238.63h,75.43t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svZD8t_AEJazYYcF2pISwUw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
That utility next to it is likely to be the "Sewerage" mentioned in the placard. That black pole is a vent stack.
Also, check out this tree in Streetview, it can be seen in the main photo...
This Wayspot's location is fake as.
This one is probably in the right location, but, you know, live animal....
StreetView actually shows the placard, to prove that it has the names of nearby roads...
Had to reject this one, because of the dog and because it is not "Innisfail Park", it is "Miles Franklin Park".
Here's another one in Point Cook, which is probably in the right location. But it shows that the placards have the name of the nearby roads...
Here: https://www.google.com/maps/@-37.8636583,144.735041,3a,52.8y,171.74h,82.71t,359.77r/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s24GViM6AaqtPagTUfGEBCQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
The existing Wayspot is titled "Veins", for some reason.
The new nomination, which will be a duplicate, has a much better title:
This one is probably ok too, and again it shows that the placard has nearby road names...
Here is another, but cannot tell if the location is correct. Maybe someone local should check it out.
Here's another one that is probably dodgy....
Placard says:
Claimed address is:
But I've already established that the road names on the placard tell us where the correct location is. So let's find Inverell and Penrose, which we can see are not near Sundial.
Need to check if this is in the right place.
And need to check this one too. Should be OK because the name placard matches nearby roads.
OK "Red Parrot Mural" is a fake location too.
It is correctly located at 11 Inverell Parkway, near Penrose Promenade, Tarneit (Point Cook).
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8431572,144.6759946,3a,46.4y,168.75h,85.4t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sT8FIMUJDZvEY1J-wyXBkWg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
StreetView shows...
That red brick & grey render house can be seen in the main Wayspot photo:
Oh, and of course it is already a Wayspot...
This person is cheating because they have to go the location that they want to nominate as the fake location and then go back to the POI to take photos. This is not accidental. They are cheating.
@NianticGiffard @NianticAaron @NianticVK can you move this thread and one more below, into Invalid Wayspot Appeal section?
I doubt that this one is where they claim it is...
Suspicious main photo cleverly avoids any kind of background reference.
But here it is in real life and there is not a blade of lawn to be seen.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8822038,144.7341937,3a,44.6y,246.82h,83.62t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1so-7d6RkMLs3Lh3kyxtz5Bg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
This is certainly a fake location for "PCTC Flower Box Art"
Here's another one with a fake location, "Dunnings Road Box Art". It is not in this location.
It is a completely different utility box next to the KFC, look at the shape of it:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8845459,144.7333789,3a,51.8y,33.19h,83.91t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sOppxB3orGiRgb6V4jNLSGg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DOppxB3orGiRgb6V4jNLSGg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D311.2347%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656
This is the "Jamieson - Sewerage" one again, that has been discussed earlier in this thread:
Correct location, approx 66 Jamieson Way:
I doubt that this one is where they claim it is...
Suspicious main photo cleverly avoids any kind of background reference.
But here it is in real life and there is not a blade of lawn to be seen.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8822038,144.7341937,3a,44.6y,246.82h,83.62t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1so-7d6RkMLs3Lh3kyxtz5Bg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
This is certainly a fake location for "PCTC Flower Box Art"
And this one....
How many times has this bird been faked? Again, this is actually located at 66 Jamieson Way.
And here's this one again from the start of this thread, how many times has it been faked?
Claimed to be here but it is a different utility box:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8825298,144.7313011,3a,27.8y,126.91h,83.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1srBRU9emeJAmuuy_vH2axIw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
amazing, good job **** I hope I can get a favorable response Colorful they look pretty pretty but action must be taken to your claim
This mural is in Melton rather than Point Cook, but it has been appearing in various nominations in other claimed locations. It is a very common mural in Melton:
It is certainly located on Barries Road:
It is a big mural, on two sides of this reserve...
Here is another version of it...
Other nominations have used the mural too yet it cannot be seen in Street View at the locations claimed.
This one needs to be checked too...
The utility box at this location has a pitched roof, not flat like the one shown in the Wayspot...
Rotating StreetView, and the profiles of the houses do not match the snippets that can be seen in the Wayspot photo, and the street sign is missing...
Absolutely this one is a fake location too.
This one might actually be in the right location. "Sprindrift Way Park Box Art"
Adding it to the thread in case it pops up again elsewhere!
Here's another, let's say, mismatched location in Point Cook. "Warego Ropes Course". It is seeking a location change, but it is already wrong.
The two options given...
But the correct location can be seen in the background, where the Ropes Course is really positioned.
This is a mismatched location to start with, and now they are going for an abusive location edit.
"Coloured Rectangles Utility Box - Mint Blvd" in Melton.
Street View January 2021 shows a completely different utility box on Mint Boulevard, Harkness (Melton West).
Compare the orientation of the pitched roof of the utility box vs the one in the Wayspot. One faces the road, the other does not. Compare the dirt around one vs gravel for the other.
That fence and snippet of a house cannot be seen on Mint Blvd:
This one is a fake location too.
This one is nonsense, it is a poster that has been pasted onto a utility box... "Detailed Airbrush Portrait: The 12 Apostles"
259 Bulmans Road Service Road.
It is the correct location as Street View 2014 shows the same houses in the background, but obviously the utility box has been installed since then.
But that artwork is not "Detailed Airbrush Portrait: The 12 Apostles". It is a poster or sticker, look at the bubbles...
"James Cook Tree Mural", same mural again. It is all over Melton, which is epic. But makes it difficult to spot the fake versions.
This one is fine.
