Rugby Fields and Goalposts in Victoria, Australia

How can we successfully nominate rugby goalposts and fields and have them accepted in Victoria, Australia?

  1. These are rugby goalposts, establishing that this is a rugby field.
  2. The rugby posts can be seen at both ends of the field, establishing that it is a rugby field.
  3. "Rugby field" is an eligible Wayfarer category.
  4. The rugby posts can be seen in Street View.
  5. The rugby posts can be seen in Satellite View, in both Wayfarer and Ingress Intel Map.
  6. The rugby posts can be seen in Photo Spheres, and those Photo Spheres are available in Wayfarer.
  7. The park is clearly named in Google Maps and Open Street Map.
  8. Rugby posts are man made. Despite claims of divinity by many fans, rugby goalposts are not natural features.
  9. Rugby is social.
  10. There are many examples of rugby fields being Wayspots, and the supporting photos are rugby goalposts.
  11. There is a Wayspot in the next cell to the west of the goalposts, and it is named after the playground in the park. The playground can be seen from space and Street View, and it is man made. The name of the park does not appear in the Wayspot photo yet people have accepted that it is a playground, that it is in that park, and that the park is correctly named.
  12. There is a cricket pitch in the park, and it is a Wayspot, in the cell to the north of the rugby goalposts. It can be seen in Street View and from space, and the photo does not have the name of the park in it, yet it is accepted as being man made, being in the park, and being a photo of the cricket pitch that is in that park.
  13. No one disputes that a playground and cricket pitch are in the same park that the rugby goalposts are being nominated in. Why is there a dispute about the rugby field and goalposts?
  14. There are no other public rugby fields in this neighbourhood. Not for a very long way. That makes these unique to the location.
  15. Reasons for rejection 1: "This nomination has been rejected due to the following reason(s): Nomination does not meet acceptance criteria, Insufficient evidence that the nomination accurately reflects the submitted real-world location based on comparison of the submitted photo and map views."
  16. So I uploaded some Photo Spheres, waited for them to appear in Wayfarer, and resubmitted the nomination (with a better title).
  17. Reasons for rejection 2: "This nomination has been rejected due to the following reason(s): Nomination does not meet acceptance criteria, Nomination appears to be a natural feature (waterfall, mountain, lake, etc.) that is not connected to a man-made object."
  • Location is absolutely confirmed by Street View, Satellite and three Photo Spheres that show the exact same goalposts in the exact same park.
  • Rugby field is an eligible category.
  • Rugby goalposts are decidedly unnatural.

What else can be done to improve this nomination? Move it to New South Wales?

Photos and info to follow.

Just do as everyone do :

1)Accept sometimes few reviewers can make mistakes

    2)Forgive them

    3)Resubmit your Wayspot

    4)Be happy ^^

Making your point here will not help you, there's no appeal for wrongly refused Waypoint.

    Thanks.

    Not overall helpful though.

Put more info - leads to rejection.

    Not enough info - rejection.

Take photo of people playing sport there - rejection.

Don't include people playing the sport - "How do we know that people play sport there?"

People play sport there - rejection because "What if you get hit by a cricket ball?" Like, they don't play cricket 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There's a footpath around and through the park, well away from the pin but within spin distance.

Temporary/seasonal and "actual curated sports field" - So now we gatekeep what sports get played there and when? They are permanent goalposts, used for a number of different football codes, in a public park that can be used by the public all year round. It is maintained by the Banyule City Council for the enjoyment of all. If someone wants to kick a footy, they can't do that "out of season"?

Crooked Pitch is seasonal? Why are any sports related Wayspots in the game? They are all seasonal.

If you really are here for nomination improvement, stop trying to make your point, it's a waste of your (and our) time.

Just follow the helpful advices given by @oscarc1-ING .

Sometimes a good waypoint (as your) is rejected for bad reasons. Just deal with this fact. Don't loose your time trying to figure why and arguing with people who try to help you.

Put your efforts on nominations, it will pay a lot more. Lol.

    Thanks.

But I need people to put all of their rubbish reasons into writing so that I can cover off those points in the nomination.

    In short. Don't.

Being argumentative doesn't help you getting your nomination accepted. Also, the propability that you get the exact same reviewers is small.

As others have said, make your case by taking good photos and writing a good description and support text.

That's what I'll be doing. Now that I can see from this forum and the one linked above, many reviewers reject these nominations regardless. So I'll had a few more reasons to the nomination.
