Could rewards be added apart from an upgrade?

Hello explorers!

I feel that without improvement the proposals cannot be solved because they take months and months in most places? Could you add any other reward when you reach 100 agreements? (1 remote pass for pokemon go and another reward for Ingress, for example?) So maybe more people are encouraged to evaluate and the system goes faster

Thank you

Wayfare is different to POGO and INGRESS. So, I suppose there will be no reward!

Maybe for every 10 nominations you make, that are accepted - you can edit and resubmit 1 rejection.

That wouldn't solve the problem that the OP is talking about, in fact it would make it worse by adding more nominations to the queue.

I suspect Appeals will be a reward like Upgrades are.

    如果增加额外奖励,可能会让Wayfare工作人员累死也弄不出来。

Motivations are going to vary. I think it would be good if upgrade points were treated more like currency or tokens that could be swapped for a variety of things.

Maybe the Wayfarer "Exchange" could (possibly) include options such as:

    • Upgrades

    • In-game consumables

    • In-game currency

    • A variety of exclusive avatar/icon customisations

    • Appeals

    • Submission quota resets

    • Bonus location reset

Different options could cost different amounts of tokens, and the prices could even be adjusted over time to control the figurative taps. For example, resetting your submission quota could be significantly more expensive than an upgrade, meaning a reviewer would have to help clear out a lot more of their local backlog before they would be able to pile more into it.

This would also mean that Wayfinders who don't see value in one kind of reward can shift their focus to another, maintaining incentive and reward. If you're like me and are lucky enough to live in a location where upgrades can often seem to be a detriment in terms of review time rather than a reward, you can focus on quota resets or on more frequently shifting your bonus location to where you can help others. If your location is a backlog quagmire, you could still push for those upgrades to help get your submissions out there.

Allowing reviewers to shift their bonus locations more frequently could also allow Niantic to potentially have multiple featured areas each month. Those areas could give bonus points for agreements. These could be like Wayfarer Challenges but more low key and frequent.

I like this idea, maybe have an agreement cost next to each item, so the obvious one would be upgrade is 100 agreements, in game currency is like 10 agreements gets 1 coin / 100 cmu etc. Your agreements are essentially in a wallet and you spend it on what you want

Ingame currency would be nice, but the problem is that in a strict way, if they give you something which represents a certain value "CMU can be bought at a certain price" they are paying you.

Which would imply that you would need to take this into account in your tax return.

(and NIA would need to do the same as well)

Only option they would have is an ingame-loadout cfr the reward for participating in the wayfarer challenges.

I don't really like the idea of in-game rewards, but Wayfarer rewards like bonus location switches or appeals would be kinda cool. Offering in-game rewards for game-neutral reviews seems like a bad path to go down and makes my inventory control issues that much harder to manage. The Avatar and Icon thing might be the sole exception.

I think, though, that Pokemon Go submitters should get a Gift from any object submitted from and appearing in that game, much like Ingress players get a key. I don't understand why this hasn't happened from the outset.

I think part of it, is that Ingress players always got a key unless something was proxied. (Now that’s not the case as it just says you may get a key)

For Pokémon GO, a PokéStop isn’t always created, so the email might say about a gift and you don’t get one. There’s also limits on how many Gifts you can hold and it doesn’t allow you to go over unlike portal keys & Inventory on Ingress.

From the sounds of it, any emails to do with Wayfarer will come from a Wayfarer email shortly anyways so in game rewards such as keys probably won’t be mentioned.

It’s getting to the point that Wayfarer is it’s own “game”.

Lightship, and not Ingress, is the new master map. Response e-mails will be sent from a Wayfarer address rather than a Pogo or Ingress one. “Portal” and “Pokestop” terminology is supposed to be replaced by “Waypoint.”

Might as well find an avatar system to implement into Wayfarer and start giving Wayfarer rewards… possibly a system that also allows exporting some of those rewards to other Niantic games.

It would be interesting how they balance the costs for different areas, for me extra submissions would be worthless since without an upgrade they won't go through for 2 years, whereas the upgrade itself is priceless and is essentially the only thing that matters. I imagine in different areas those extra submissions would be really nice though.
